.. You are now on the page of Hotsteppa – everyone’s favourite DJ, promoter and all round entertainer.Hotsteppa started Ding in ‘97/’98 at house parties and stuff when the garage scene was BIG! He loved the vibe, and felt like something was missing – HIM!! Him and his friend, Cheeky B, decided to break onto the scene and have been working together ever since.He couldn’t say there was just one person that influenced his decision into becoming a DJ, there were too many people to choose from including Masterstepz, EZ, Tuff Jamm Lamont plus many more.Getting into the business in the first place was very hard, Hotsteppa started at Passion, from there went to extreme, done a guest show with the Dream Team, followed by Y2K, then a while at Sweet. Fast forward to the present day and you can now catch Hotsteppa in the leading radio station for hip-hop and R&B Choice FM.So far Hotsteppa has dabbled in distribution, promotion and Ding. He has a clothing line in the pipeline, which is out there for all the people who have supported him so far. There’s a compilation CD to come (we all have the Hey Sexy, Girls Girls Girls and Red Carpet CDs already!) and club nights all through the summer in Aiya Napa.Hotsteppa’s advice for any Dj that wants to make it is “Graft! You have to work hard. If you don’t then don’t expect anything. Don’t expect to carry a job and be a DJ; you need to choose one or the other because at the end of the day, it’s longer than any 9 till 5 I know of! And contacts, you need good contacts in any job but if you’re looking to move up you need a filo fax full of them!This is the reason why Hotsteppa has some of the biggest nights around.
