Tone Scott The Program Director

About Me

Tone ScottTone Scott seems to think that folk often refer to him as the missing piece of the puzzle. Thats so not true. Tone Scott is the puzzle, an amazing amalgam whose sum equals nothing less than a musical enigma. With an alter ego (whose name by the way is AK) and underground career spanning over two decades, T. Scott has done it all. Hes been the deejay, producer, board-man Spent years introducing Detroit artists to heavy bass lines, ear catching hooks and the 16-bar standard. Hes spent the thick of his formidable years preparing Motor City hopefuls to play the game, equipping them with an industry quality sound that people dont usually expect to come out of Detroit. So now, add to his many interlocking segments, that of artist/rapper. After a long hiatus and in the wake of honing in on untapped lyrical handiwork, Tone Scott has prepared himself to play the game. Backed conjunctively by indy labels Oops Entertainment and SupaStar INC., his emergence into the musical arena as a creative force has been nothing short of anticipated. See, Tone Scott is stylish. Everything he does, musically and otherwise is done with attitude, the kind of attitude that makes what hes about so believable. Tone approaches the business of music with the type of savoir-faire that makes him unforgettable. So much in fact that industry folk remember him as the cat from way back that could quite possibly be some Kanye-Dre-Pharrell-Diddy hybrid; some outspoken, innovative, producer-turned-rapper, a personification of what musical craftsmanship is all about.Scotts album, The Program Director, scheduled for early 2nd quarter release is a compilation of uninhibited radio-ready hits sure to be placed in heavy rotation. The project features industry familiars as well as resident powerhouse Mario Winans. The launch single, We Ball, is a club-cut underscored by Royce da 59 and local songtress Rita Mosley. It says to the listener, whatever you do [make sure you] ball. With the type of party atmosphere and energy induced vibe reminiscent of 50s In Da Club track, We Ball, holds its own as a Detroit city original worthy of global praise. No Panties, Tones subsequent single is definitely something for the ladies. Its a song that highlights the artists feminine preference while tastefully paying homage to the female ability to work wonders with (or in) unmentionables. On a more personal/familial note the heartfelt cover of the Perri song No Place To Go an ample dedication to his sisters efforts to break from an abusive relationship renders chills. Tone Scotts weighty lyrics coupled with the undeniable vocal supremacy of newcomer Jotika brings such in-your-face realism that it warrants double play. These days the 30-something, former Puritan Avenue native has evolved, become humbled in his attempts to map out success. Hes been mentored by the likes of David Taylor (Tina Maries guitar player) and schooled by the very streets from which lyrics were born. Tone Scotts seen it and lived it, now hes saying it and recording itthe soundtrack to this mans life, far from fictionanything but studio jargon. With a new movie, Detroit G Code set to be released on DVD, and a chart topping album on the horizon, Tone Scott is looking forward to waking up to the good life. With a personal mantra that mandates you get out of life what you put into it Mr. Scott has decided to play the game, and more importantly to win it.Booking/contact information: [email protected] or 313-864-6315
