About Me

I was born. I grew up. I'm probably more a bastard now than I've ever been. Worst of all, I'm positive it's my fault. Not an auspicious start, right? Let's just take it from the beginning.
I'm the product of the Athenian urban jungle, recently returned to my metropolis and all the better for it. Freshly moved to the city center, I find myself a stone's throw from my precious haunts.
I no longer spend my mornings attending to the petty wargames of my superiors in the Hellenic Navy ; such unwanted and unwarranted bondage has come to a close. I was too old for that shit, but it's over now, so I should probably shut up.
When I haul my indolent buttocks out of bed, I hie on to work to spend my nine to fives . While I may convey this with a perceived lack of enthusiasm, working in publishing has always been my life: I don't question or second-guess my career choice.
It's the real me that comes to the fore once all is said and done, professionally. In the quiet and personal hours after work, the little passions that propel me forward emerge: culinary arts, fine music, and the honed appreciation of the pornographic image.
I'm a contradiction, deeply rooted in one world while constantly appreciating a different one. I frequent haunts I rarely match in image, I preach logic but practice emotion just as often, I work the mind but somehow seem to appreciate the body more, and I always seem to make unintended first impressions.
Probably more than you bargained for, huh?

My Interests

I was immersed in the world of reading at the vulnerable age of four. It's only been a small step to writing, though I do this exclusively in blog format.

I sampled a variety of majors in university before I decided to study journalism. Of course, I ended up pursuing my love for visual culture and photography instead. Admittedly, I have a distinct preference for heroin chic portraiture, fetish photography and pornography, but to each their own.

Carnal pleasures have always been integral to my psyche: culinary pursuits, sex and the human body all rank pretty high on my list of priorities.

I probably spend a bit more time than most thinking about rope bondage, spanking and biting, I have to admit, and though I'm only wearing a frenum piercing at the moment, I'm a fan and documenter of body modification in general.

If you don't believe me, you can always refute the above information in person at the Underworld club in Athens. I'll be happy to prove you wrong on any given Saturday.

Kisses.

I'd like to meet:

Honestly? I don't give it much thought. I'm sure I'll meet those worth meeting eventually. Might not happen through here, but this is one hell of a screening system.C'mon, let's move on to more interesting things, like Eva's deliciously wonderful photography, which you can peruse by clicking on the link below.

Music:

I grew up on Metal Street, to the sounds of Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, but it wasn't long before I rented a place on my own in Rock Avenue. Somehow, I've ended up living in Hotel Industrial, here in Electronica Plaza.

These days, my playlist's mainly been featuring electro, techno, a smattering of house and indie remixes, along with the usual synthpop, EBM, electroindustrial, futurepop, powernoise, and guilty pleasures I'm not ready to admit to.

I'm sure that sounds pretty fuckin' vague, so here are the obligatory lists to placate the more demanding among you.

:wumpscut:, And One, Apoptygma Berzerk, Assemblage 23, Combichrist, Covenant, Das Ich, Die Krupps, Front Line Assembly, Funker Vogt, Icon of Coil, KMFDM, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Project Pitchfork, Suicide Commando, Tactical Sekt, VNV Nation.

Aphex Twin, Ayumi Hamasaki, Celldweller, Cocteau Twins, Coldcut, Depeche Mode, Gorillaz, Iris, Juno Reactor, Lords of Acid, Moby, SouthernLogic, Switchblade Symphony, The Chemical Brothers, The Cruxshadows, The Faint, Origa.

A Perfect Circle, Bad Religion, Butthole Surfers, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Garbage, Guns N' Roses, Incubus, Lacuna Coil, Levellers, Luscious Jackson, Marilyn Manson, Monster Magnet, Nine Inch Nails, Paradise Lost, Placebo, Poe, Rammstein, R.E.M., The Black Crowes, The Detroit Cobras, The White Stripes, Tool, White Zombie, Within Temptation.

Avril Lavigne, Cypress Hill, Dido, Evanescence, Green Day, HiM, My Chemical Romance.

If you're still not satisfied, just look up my Last.fm page .

Movies:

Ah, this will be short and sweet.

I'm generally a fan of most films by John Carpenter, David Cronenberg, David Lynch, and John Woo. I'll probably add most I.G. Studios and Miyazaki Hayao animation. And then there's assorted Korean and Japanese films, but I'll spare you the details. After all, key words = short + sweet.

Television:

Primarily used in the context of "kill your".

Books:

I read William Gibson's Neuromancer twice annually, and I occasionally brush up on my Steven Brust. Robert Anton Wilson's The Illuminatus! Trilogy is up there as well, and so are my cookbook collection, my fetish photography tomes and a bunch of manga I won't bother to list.

Sorry, we don't do The DaVinci Code here.

Heroes:
