About Me

My name is Angi and I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer at 33. I found the lump myself and have no family history of the disease. I am now 35 and the cancer has returned at a stage 3. I am currently taking chemotherapy, with one more to go for now. I am having scans in February, and my doctor will decide then where I will be going with my treatments. I had been scheduled for a double mastectomy, but that has been cancelled. For now I am in limbo.
Breast Friends for Life, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, was formed to promote education, awareness, and to offer practical help services for young women living with breast cancer. All women are at risk. Dont think you are too young to get breast cancer. Only 5% of all breast cancers are found in women under 40. I cannot stress enough the importance of early detection. There is no prevention or cure, only early detection. Know your body, do your monthly breast self examinations, and if you notice any changes, see your doctor right away. Being a survivor is an attitude and a state of mind!

I saw my oncologist on October 24th. My blood counts were too low to have treatment. The a/c treatments that I have been receiving every 21 days have reached a plateau and are no longer shrinking...
