~~~~~~“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." - Edmond Burke ~ The wide range of music displayed by Under the Red flows out of an intense passion that comes straight from the heart. They weave together heavy, melodic guitar lines, drums and bass with unique rhythmic patterns, and emotional lyrics arising from real life experiences. Bringing a message of hope and love to the masses with a variety of musical influences, Under the Red strives to reach this generation with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. ~ Their mission is not to achieve fame and fortune but to stand up for what they believe in by being a light in the dark places; by loving others in the midst of their weakness and pain, and holding on to truth while allowing it to reveal itself. In a time of moral relativism and securalization with so many distorted messages being sent to this generation a clear line must be drawn by those that profess to be Christians. ~ The “Becoming Who We Are” EP is the first studio project recorded by Under the Red. The songs written embody some thoughts and views of the band, but are only the beginning of things to come. After recording the EP it left the band with more desire and inspiration to create even better material leading to the anthem “A Reason To Wake Up”(Battle Cry). The song is featured on the Matt Evans Project album, “A Thousand Steps Toward Forever.” Other bands also featured on the album include: Becoming Saints, After The Tragedy, Ashes of Augustine, Throwdown, and Underoath. The album was released on September 9th, 2006 and was dedicated to a friend - the late Matt Evans - who passed away of cancer shortly after graduating high school. ~ Under the Red continues to travel and perform with lots of incredible bands. They shared the stage at Vertical Fest '06 with Kutless, Seventh Day Slumber, and Last Tuesday, and Decypher Down and Disciple at Vertical Fest '07. The band has also played with bands from NW Arkansas including: The Wedding, The New Ending, and Schema. Gaining more experience, building more relationships, writing more music, and finding more fulfillment is what the band continues to do. Whatever doors may open, Under the Red is more than ready to walk through them. ~~~~~
