About Me

DJ Daemia has been spinning records since June of 2003. She specializes in drum and bass ranging from liquid funk to hard amens and everything in between, including dancefloor bangers, neurofunk, and dark and heavy rollers. Her ecclectic taste in music is apparent in genres outside of drum n' bass as well. Daemia also spins house, breaks, techno, dubstep, and hard house/NRG. She has played in Arizona, Poland, Mexico, and all over California at events featuring some of DNB and electronica's finest dj's, producers and MC's, including Digital, Dieselboy, Dara, AK1200, Skynet, LTJ Bukem, Psidream, Counterstrike, DJ Swamp, Reid Speed, R.A.W., the Junglist Platoon, MC Tali, Hive, Twisted Individual, Jayvon, MC XYZ, Alder, Gein, Arsenic, Origin, DJ Trance, CRS?, APX-1, MC Dino, DRC, Barry Weaver, Miyuki, and numerous other local heavy hitters from LA, OC, SD, and SF.Daemia's main focus is furthering her career in music by learning more about every aspect of the music industry. She is the founder of SoCal Selectress, a collaboration of female DNB/breaks/house dj's, promoters, dancers, supporters, artists, producers, MC's, firedancers, photographers, and clothing designers coming together to take the music to another level. Current projects with the crew include organizing multi-genre events with an emphasis on drum and bass throughout Southern California which incorporate multiple levels of entertainment, development of a female clothing line which meets the needs of female electronic music fans, building a powerful promotional street team, starting a brand new internet radio show on Dark Wax radio, development of a website which showcases some of the most talented and dedicated females in Southern California. Some of her long-term goals with SoCal Selectress include developing a booking agency, developing a female entertainment school where aspiring female artists can learn various musical artforms in a comfortable nurturing environment with skilled and experienced mentors, creating a prestigious all-girl sound crew, making a record label featuring female producers from around the globe, organizing an all female massive as a collaboration with other girl crews from around the world, and touring and travelling the world as an all-inclusive stage show with female dj's, dancers, and MC's. She is currently working hard with Criminal Element in organizing and promoting DNB and multi-genre events in San Diego. She is also supporting the launch of Criminal Element's record label, Audicide Recordings, which sets to promote the dark DNB sounds of stateside producers. She is also affiliated with Creative Kasualties and Schedule One Media, two reputable crews from San Diego and Orange County which work hard to bring quality events to SoCal.Daemia strives to make an impact on the music scene. She's not afraid to reach out to others to learn more and collaborates with like minds to unite for a common goal. She has a life-long commitment to setting a standard for what unity and good intentions can accomplish in life and with music. Her passion can be experienced in her mixing, programming, and track selection. You'll always see her around the clubs with mixes in one hand, and a stack of flyers in the other. Come see what the buzz is all about! The following is my newest mix you can download at www.musicv2.com/artist/dj_daemiaYou can find the tracklist on the website or in my blog. Thanks for the love and support! =DQUAD DAMAGE Length 63:04; Made on 4/4/07 Visit Musicv2.com For Your Own Custom Myspace.com Music Player .. My life is awesome. It gets better and more interesting with each passing day. I love my job, I love my friends, I love lamp, but most importantly I LOVE music!!! As an up and coming dj, I spend endless hours at the turntables, spinning, recording mixes, and pushing myself to new levels. I go out a lot, actively promoting myself and the parties I spin at. I am forever addicted to this hobby, and aspire to hopefully make a career out of it. I love activities that are permanent outlets for creativity, that constantly teach me new things, and involve the energy of other people/animals. That is why I have always had a passion for animal training (my favorites being marine mammals, bears, and primates). I love to entertain and I love learning new things. I think one day I will go to Graduate school to pursue a PhD in psychology and hopefully one day will become a professor in social psychology or perhaps work in the field of industrial-organizational psychology. I am fascinated by human behavior and prefer to surround myself with deep, intelligent, and intricate people with similar interests (especially the music which I heart sooooo much: DRUM N' BASS!!!!) I currently work as a waitress at Rockin' Baja Lobster in Old Town, San Diego and I just got another job as a server at the Cheesecake Factory in Fashion Valley. Serving is good for now with the whole dj'ing thing because it pays my bills and supports my vinyl-purchasing habits =D. I graduated from SDSU with a BA in psychology just over a year ago. I'm at a fork in the road in my life, teetering between returning to the animal training field and returning to school once I've rekindled my motivation. I graduated SDSU with a 4.0 and I love school, but I'm taking a time-out to learn about myself and explore the many avenues of life I could potentially go down. My life is beautiful right now...and it just keeps getting better and better. My entire family lives in Poland, including my parents. I'm first generation American. I am pretty bubbly and consider myself a good friend to people. I'm a good listener and will always be a compassionate and loyal companion. I'd like to think I'm a pretty intelligent person...but that's a subjective term so I'll let you decide! I love spinning records more than anything else I can possibly think of (yeah...sorry, guys...even THAT...) ..

My Interests

Click here ....My interests include spinning records, spinning fire (poi), dancing, breakdancing, surfing, spinning records, training animals, psychology, horseback riding, travel, video games (QUAKE III, fighting games, 3D sidescrollers, roleplaying games, adventure games, technical games...Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider, Tekken, ZOOCUBE) and outdoors-y stuff...I still maintain my femininity (I shave!) I also like to spin records. Not too fond of Patchouli oil, R'n'B, red beets, dill, Bush, and other people who lack brains, integrity, and personality. Call me a dork, but I actually enjoy receiving education. I like a lot of my psychology classes, especially social psychology. Did I mention spinning records already?

I'd like to meet:

Chicks and guys that are down! People with substance and character....I love drum n' bass!!!! I'm looking to meet fun people that share the same love and passion that I do. I'm also down to meet people who support what I do and who are down to come party with me at the events I play at. I'm down to kick it and spin records. I'm on the verge of dabbling in production. I would like to meet some people that are passionate about producing as well, and hopefully can break down the basics...start the fire, ya know? And if you know a lot about Reason and FL Studio, I definitely would like to meet you (cuz that's what I have installed on my computer and that's what I'll be using until I graduate to the next level). I think I'll be really good at producing. I started playing the keyboard when I was 8 years old and I feel I've developed an ear that's directly attached to my heart. I like people with interesting and unique philosophies on life. Open-mindedness is definitely a favorable attribute. I also spin house, techno, and NRG....don't be a hater!!!

Music:

.. ..My favorite genre of music is drum n' bass, although I also spin house, techno, and NRG. I prefer dark, fast, jump-up-py, tech-steppy, amen vs. apache jungly type music with neuro-funky basslines. I like the dark, choppy stuff, too... One of my favorite producers right now is Noisia. I like breaks because they're fun to dance to. I enjoy some good Hardcore once in a while...in small doses. I like deep, funky house, too. I don't like too many vocals in my music and I don't like gay trancy stuff, although I do like dark trance and techno. Bottom line: fast, dark or funky, and bouncy: end of story. I like some types of hip-hop...but it's not my favorite. I really like Jedi Mind Tricks, The Roots, Mental Sharp, and Pharcyde. I really don't like R'n'B. Some other music groups that rock the hizzy are Rage Against the Machine, Korn, System of a Down, Static X, Sublime, BEASTIE BOYS!!!!
