Every Super Hero has a friend in the media, who understands the complexities of living a double life mixed with the need to ensure your "secret" identity is protected. For me, it is the Chicago Red Eye. For those of you who live in Chicago and haven't read the sports section, you're missing out.In 2006, I started doing correspondence writing for the Chicago Red Eye. In 2008, I signed on with thesportsbank.net, a sports and pop culture “webzine†as a White Sox feature and baseball writer. Both are great places for the insane Sox Fan!
Like all super heroes, nobody really knows the true identifies of the Sox Super Friends. Rumor has it that Soxman grew up on the Southside and may hide himself as a Cub fan to protect his secret identity. Other rumors are that the Sox Super heroes are a Chicago Fireman, an Accountant, a Real Estate expert, and a sales associate. His trusty sidekick, Batboy, often accompanies Soxman at appearances. There have been as many as three Batboy’s accompanying Soxman to games. The first Batboy, featured in the MLB World Series DVD, retired after game one of the World Series. Fans found it funny that he was named Batboy, as he appeared to be 50 years of age or older. The most beloved, and most frequently seen Batboy, has a stocky frame with sandy blond hair. Many fans refer to him as “the original†Batboy. He has also been referred to as Batboy North. This foundation is a hero of mine as well! Anyone who ever was close to someone with cancer would know why!
