About Me

What a difference 88 years can make. In 2005, age old prayers were answered, and the Chicago White Sox became the first Chicago baseball team to turn the tides of curses, bad luck, and dark shadows to claim their rightful place as World Champions. From the mania of the moment, from the hysteria of south side pride, a White Sox nation was born. From the fires of championship ire, and the shadows of fans that would take a backseat to other teams no more, a sock-laden super hero was born. His name is Soxman.Making his first appearance at game one of the 2005 World Series, his legion quickly grew. He is a fan of fans, and simply appears from nowhere to boost the spirit of others who love the White Sox, and to show Chicagoans everywhere what team's fans are truly the most dedicated. While Soxman's winning record is no longer prefect in games attended, he continues to cheer on his favorite team, while having an incredible winning record record since 2005! Soxman continues to exist for only one reason, the amusement of the fans.Dubbed The White Sox Super Heroes, by Mark Supulsa of Fox News, Soxman is accompanied by his American League of Justice, who lend rally support, including Bat Boy Senior, Bat Boy II, Bat Boy Southside, and the Sexy Sultans, Bat Girl Lefty and Bat Girl Righty. Thanks to all of you, they have claimed their rightful place in Chicago Pop Culture History appearing in the Chicago Sun-Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Red-Eye, The South Town Economist, The Defender and on multiple internet sites including MLB.com. They have also appeared at the World Series Parade and on all local Chicago Television Stations in Chicago. Soxman has also been interviewed by radio stations such as the Score, ESPN 1000, and several Japanese and Spanish Media outlets. He even appeared on several Houston channels covering the Astros In November 2005, Soxman and Bat Boy Senior claimed their rightful place in Chicago sports fan history by appearing in the official MLB World Series DVD.Soxman and Batboy remain very humble in their popularity, using it to support various charitable causes in the greater Chicago land area. Not much is known about the “man behind the mask,” nor his sidekick, although they both are believed to keep their private lives very separate from the characters they portray, much like any comic book hero would. This page is dedicated to all of you, the fans, whom without, Soxman would be nothing more than a Ronnie Woo Woo Wannabe. Thanks for your support, cheers and admiration of my team spirit. I do it all for you! When You Need a Rally Hero Put The Signal in The Sky and Soxman Will Be There.

Television:

Who needs T.V. besides ESPN and WGN sox Games when reality is so much better. My favorite reality moment around the best city in the world are below...

Books:

Every Super Hero has a friend in the media, who understands the complexities of living a double life mixed with the need to ensure your "secret" identity is protected. For me, it is the Chicago Red Eye. For those of you who live in Chicago and haven't read the sports section, you're missing out.In 2006, I started doing correspondence writing for the Chicago Red Eye. In 2008, I signed on with thesportsbank.net, a sports and pop culture “webzine” as a White Sox feature and baseball writer. Both are great places for the insane Sox Fan!

Heroes:

Like all super heroes, nobody really knows the true identifies of the Sox Super Friends. Rumor has it that Soxman grew up on the Southside and may hide himself as a Cub fan to protect his secret identity. Other rumors are that the Sox Super heroes are a Chicago Fireman, an Accountant, a Real Estate expert, and a sales associate. His trusty sidekick, Batboy, often accompanies Soxman at appearances. There have been as many as three Batboy’s accompanying Soxman to games. The first Batboy, featured in the MLB World Series DVD, retired after game one of the World Series. Fans found it funny that he was named Batboy, as he appeared to be 50 years of age or older. The most beloved, and most frequently seen Batboy, has a stocky frame with sandy blond hair. Many fans refer to him as “the original” Batboy. He has also been referred to as Batboy North. This foundation is a hero of mine as well! Anyone who ever was close to someone with cancer would know why!
