2006 Cammies John liechty voted best guitarist-Goldmind sprouted in the mountains of Calaveras County as an acoustic trio. After relocating to Chico, the band acquired a permanent bassist and drummer. At this point, Goldmind grew into the four-piece rock group they are today. After the release of their full length album in July 2003, Goldmind refined their talents in order to produce a strong well rounded five song EP.Their style is a mix of sixties to nineties rock with acoustic to electric transitions which create a diverse and unique sound. With high-energy jams and concrete rhythms, Goldmind incorporates a variety of instruments ranging from guitars (acoustic, electric & bass), to hand drums, and harmonicas. With thoughtful lyrics and strong melodies, each song is a collaboration of ideas from all members. Their influences range from a wide variety of musical backgrounds including: Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Janes Addiction, Blind Melon, and Guns 'n Roses.Over the last three years this band has been captivating audiences with their electrifying live performances. During this time they have grown to become Chicos front running rock group, now eager to bring their music out into the open. Currently, they are seeking labels, and scheduling shows throughout the West Coast.
Quotes"Goldmind is one of the most promising bands I have heard in the 25 years I have been producing records and live music television shows in California. John Paul's Voice is compelling; the entire band generates a live energy that is impossible to resist. Of course...plenty of bands can claim "energy"... but this band also has the original songs that make the difference between a run of the mill local band and a group that is ready for a national recording deal."-Peter Berkow, Producer, PBS television series, "Sierra Center Stage.""...they are now one of the north state's most promising groups."-Erin A.
