About Me

Wynd began at the start of 2004.
Louise - Vocals/ percussion,
Martin - Rhythm Guitar,
Callum - Bass,
Colin -Lead Guitar,
We have worked hard for the last couple of years and continue to play gigs around central Scotland. We write constantly and have 50+ songs written to date. We have a growing list of supporters and played a steady stream of gigs in 2006 with some brilliant bands. In 2007, we hope to expand both our set list and gig list. We recorded an album in October 2006 which was a small selection of our songs up to that point, which we were regularly gigging with. The album is called "It`s All Good" and features 10 tracks. You can get a copy from the band for £5. 2007 has been a journey for the band. We are recording our second album which features more tracks in our new direction, which is an upbeat disco pop rock feel. We seem to be at ease with this new style and have gotten some great feedback on our songs. We have a new bass player, Callum, who has fit right in and helped push this new direction. Currently we are in the studio working on Album 2 and writing new songs to play live and start the journey towards our next album.
We will keep everyone updated as much as possible.

"Wynd are something of an enigma to me as they seem to switch genres with great ease on their 1st full length album called "it`s All Good"- recorded in October 2006 the CD is a selection of 10 tracks which the band were regularly gigging with at the time of recording. The flirt with atmospheric gothic tunes across indie rock then over to good old rock and interspersed with a few doses of good old new wave/punk esq. tunes along the way and you have a pretty nice first little album on your hands. Maybe not earth shatteringly cutting edge but just as good as a whole bucket load of artists currently clogging the airwaves over the last 10 years. If you get a chance to pick up a copy you won`t regret it as like mine i`m sure it will remain in the car cd player for a long long time..."

"punchy...and very vibrant.....a wickedly up tempo vibe....everything works a treat"

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: wyndtheband2.talkspot.com
Band Members: Louise - Vocals, Tamborine

Louise has always been a bit of a show-off, which led to singing in public at any opportunity. She loves singing in a rock band, despite the constant complaints of "I can't hear myself!" She has a very eclectic taste in music, ranging from classical, gospel and blues through to indie rock, metal and hip hop. Her favourite bands are Feeder and Radiohead, and her biggest influences as a singer are Annie Lennox, Skin and Aretha Franklin. Colin - Lead Guitar

For someone who has only been playing guitar for a little over 2 years, Colin has come on leaps and bounds. His ability to learn fast has been influential in the development of the band, and he is now a major creative force within the group. His influences include John Lee Hooker, Joe Satriani and Rory Gallagher.

Callum - Bass

Callum joined the band in August 2007 and has brought a new sense of excitement to the band. He can play a variety of instruments and comes on board with a knowledge of music and determination to drive the band forward in new directions. r/ Martin - Rhythm Guitar

Martin has played acoustic guitar from the age of 16. One could say without Martin there would be no Wynd, and he has been a constant driving force in the band's development. Martin has a preference for acoustic based material and this gives the band a good balance. His influences include The Beatles, Bob Dylan and Radiohead.
Influences: Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Bob Dylan
Radiohead
Oasis
Ocean Colour Scene
