Songwriter and Vocalist Liz Solomons debut release, Imaginary Girl, is a collection of 12 adult-contemporary songs written on her journey of personal healing. From the introspective Silent Desperation to the rage filled Spoken Silent Words, from the personal loss aching through Kyles song to the inquisitive title track , this album provides an insiders personal view of domestic abuse. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the CD will be donated to the Beta Sigma Phi Endowment Fund. Liz is proud to be a part of NCADV's Voices Against Violence Campaign and will use her music as a platform to further public education about domestic abuse. A Personal Message from Liz: In my early twenties, after being mentally abused and physically threatened, I found myself stripped of any shred of self-esteem, dignity, and strength I had possessed. I was about fifty pounds overweight; I had lost touch with the majority of my friends, and felt a vast emptiness that reached in to the depths of my soul. I thought I would never recover the woman I had been before I allowed a man to rape me of my very essence.It had always been my understanding that domestic abuse was a physical thing. Getting beaten up and having bruises were proof something was truly wrong. Domestic Mental Abuse is an affliction that starts so subtly you may not even see it coming. I know I didn't.Like many women, I found the strength to persevere because of the love and support of my family and friends. Many of the songs on this album were written on my journey towards personal healing. It is my hope that when you listen and share these songs they offer you the same healing and comfort they have given me.All the best, Liz
