Once again the universe is moving
Nothing about change is soothing
Divinity is present, even as we fall from grace
We can be born again and rise up from the ashes of disgrace
We can prevail and pave this road of dirt
We’ve treaded on, singing our songs of joy and hurt
We’ll thus be strong
We need not just a finger but an arm
We need not just a pretty face but also charm
We speak in parables hoping not harm
Hoping some will comprehend
‘Cause looking towards the past, solidifies the end
That’s why I’ve traveled far, with scabbed knees to profess
That irony is king, amongst us lost in loneliness
And who will stop us now, but now ourselves?
And who now holds the key, to all our cells?
The key that forged with blood and bone
Which came from in ourselves
The cage that was both heart and home
Our mind now doth impale
The castle with a blink, disintegrates to jail
And though we seem so strong, we’re scared to fail
Although our mouths are shut, inside we wail
Maybe one day our spirits will prevail
But until then, my friend, in space we’ll sail
Nobody said that life was fair
Within this void, we are, nowhere
And where I be, far better than I been …
Far better than the holidays with kin
Far better than to douse myself in sin
Sometimes you lose but boy sometimes you win
So go ahead, look closely, and fine tune your perspective
That’s right, more closely, and never mind the retrospective
A lifetime could be spent trying to perfect it
A lifetime will pass by so don’t regret it
No don’t regret a single thing
Grab all of your regrets and bring
Them for the ride and for the trip
Don’t touch those scabs, boy don’t you pick
Just let them heal and they’ll reveal
The truth, will set you free, don’t hide
The truth, will liberate you from your pride
Take all regret and pain inside
Just pull it up and spit it out
Don’t scream or sigh or pout
Don’t cringe within this fringe or shout
But trust that this may be,
The last of all your benders,
There are no other bridges,
There are no other lenders
And to redeem become serene, be still and then surrender
We must walk with the healer, to then become the mender
