About Me

The name is Scotland. Yep, it's the name i was born with. Since then i've assumed a few personalites including the greek god Pan, Oscar Wild's less than beloved character Dorian Grey and DJ Scotland/DJ Fauxbot of Lafayette, Louisiana fame. Let me tell you a little about myself.......
Religion and Politics
I hate opinions. Even my own. I try to be neutral, but unfortunately i find myself rather opinionated due to all the idiocy around me.
I hate religion. My understanding of the universe around me far exceeds yours. It's ok, you can laugh cause i know we all feel the same.
I hate holidays. I do not celebrate any holidays except for birthdays. I don't need any church or greetings card company telling me when im supposed to express love to my family. Though i'll admit to calling my folks on mother's and father's day just because they don't understand my hostility towards these things and feel hurt if i don't call. See im not completly all piss and vinegar ;)
I hate politics. I try to avoid them. I have no interest in voting for the lesser of evils. And why get myself worked up over something i can't change? Don't give me that crap about how i can make a differance. Even mtv wasn't able to make it cool enough to vote apparently. I mean there's no way that people under 30 and not in the south voted for W. I just don't believe that my peers are that fucking idiotic.
Now on to something i love....
Music:
I love music. It's an addiction for me. My obsession is collecting cds, cassettes, records and mp3s.
I used to be a dj back in Lafayette, Louisiana for about two years. I did three different reoccuring monthly goth events during which i played everything a "goth" dj should play; deathrock, goth rock, old school industrial, rock industrial, darkwave, as well as ebm, noise, synthpop, and electroclash. I hate how all goth clubs these days play nothing but EBM and noise, that's just so boring so i don't bother attending anymore. I also did a reoccuring monthly new wave/electroclash night, and i also did a few nights of punk/alternative/indie/emo/garage.
I like some hiphop but im really picky about it and i don't like rap much. If you don't know the differance between rap and hip hop don't bother asking me.
I like old country, especially Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. But this new crap is not even soulful country anymore, it's a pop parody about how these idiots think it's cool to be closeminded and have unfounded opinions dictated by a lying church and goverment.
I don't care for metal, hardcore, and hard rock. I have no desire to prove my manliness to anyone and i have enough anger and hate of my own that doesnt need to be amplified. And as for the intricate technicality of some metal, while i respect the talent and hardwork, i'd prefer music that feels good not music that sounds like a math equation.
I love a good emo song. And i say this in confidence that you realise what emo actually is, and that you're not one of those people that slaps the word emo on anything they can't classify, like people did with grunge in the 90's. Nighty percent of the bands that are called emo these days sound nothing like any band that really is emo. Saying Belle and Sebastion or Death Cab for Cutie is emo because they play sad songs is like saying Nirvana was emo because they played sad songs. Nirvana is emo?! Sounds pretty fucking stupid doesn't it? Emo is a style not a dumpster for anything you think is mopey and modern. The truth is alternative never died.
Drugs:
I love what drugs have done for me, as for opening my mind and making things clear. But im not into the druggie lifestyle of taking any and everything i can get my hands on. These days im just a nightly pothead and beer drinker.
Sex:
What is gender? Fuck if i know. The lines have always been rather blurred for me. I've often thought of myself as a woman, though im like 90% heterosexual. I love to look at pretty boys, especially boys that are pretty like girls, but im not really interested in them sexually. It's more like an interest in beauty and glamour. I definately have a penis and I'm definately in love with the female body. Does that make me a heterosexual male? I really don't know. I think it's more accurate to say im a gay woman trapped in a man's body. Though im not a feminist by any stretch. If you ask me, i think we're all born bisexual and our enviroments, experiances, and hormones later shape what we choose to like.
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.
I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought'a be a Man In Black.
I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.
And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.
Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.
