Movies, theater, the arts, travelling, the outdoors, and local sports especially arena football. I especially enjoy very bad films: 50's science fiction, drive-in era films, cheesy horror, Fred Olen Ray, Roger Corman, Troma films. I am one of those weird people who can watch a good film such as TITANIC and a really bad one such as SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS and enjoy them for basically the same reasons.
I would like to meet like minded people who enjoy bad movies and can find a lot of fun in life without having to indulge themselves in mind altering substances.
I enjoy all types of music especially the symphony and heavy metal. I worked promoting Christian metal, hardcore, and punk concerts for over 15 years in West Michigan so I do have an affinity for that scene.
Too many to list. I will break the list down into good ones and really bad ones. Good films: GLADIATOR; SAVING PRIVATE RYAN; THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE; FORREST GUMP; CREEPSHOW; TITANIC; SPIDERMAN; BATMAN RETURNS; DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978); ROCK AND ROLL HIGH SCHOOL; HELLBOY; THE PUNISHER; AMERICAN PSYCHO; MAY; CARRIE (1976); HALLOWEEN; and THE HOWLING. Bad films: INBRED REDNECKS; SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-A-RAMA; SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS; CITIZEN TOXIE: TOXIC AVENGER 4; PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE; HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS, and many others.
Fave TV shows: "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Korgoth Of Barbaria", "Metalocalypse", "The Boondocks", "Robot Chicken" (can you tell I like Adult Swim?), "The X-Files", "Teen Titans", "Spongebob Squarepants", and "Star Trek: The Next Generation".
Right now I have been spending too much time reading textbooks for college. In between semesters I like to read sci-fi and fantasy books. I am hoping in the next few months to re-read the Chronicles Of Narnia and Lord Of The Rings books again.
First of all, Jesus Christ. People who are out changing our world for the better. The people who work day and night for the poor, the destitute, the homeless, disadvantages children, the handicapped, and the hungry in their communities--you all have my gratitude and respect. Wealthy people who take what God has given them and spend their lives working for social justice, such as John Walsh and now Bill Gates. The police, fire fighters, and first response workers in our communities. All the brave men and women who are serving our country in the military whether they agree with the policies of our government or not. Sorry guys, but with very few exceptions celebrities are NOT heroes!
