Music:

george michael is pretty cool. every time he passes out in his car, i love him a little more.

Movies:

i really only like foreign films, but i'm not a snob. i just like to hear the different languages. i will watch the worst films ever just to be able to flutter my hands around my throat all excited-like and squeal, "dude, they're speaking kyrgyz! KYRGYZ! that's freaking KYRGYZ! have you ever heard anyone speak kyrgyz before?!" in other words, i do not recommend "beshkempir, the adopted son."

Television:

i was always one of those cranky people claiming to be too cerebral for television, but i changed my mind once LOST started, and i think i'm a more pleasant person as a result.

(plus, i like to watch crappy celebrity gossip shows when i'm homesick. don't tell anyone!)

Books:

a little history, a lot of theology, and sometimes dostoyevsky, for old times' sake.
