About Me

This is the page of Lotte, a semi-nomadic creature who currently pitched up her tent in Gent, Belgium. A pretty nice city, but a little too cold. That’s why she exchanges it often for a different habitat, preferable Mediterranean or Eastern where she spend many years of her childhood.
Currently she’s studying Eastern (Semitic) languages and cultures: Akkadian-Hebrew. She loves to decipher old texts and she loves puzzling with words and make translations. Besides this, she studies archaeology. During these years she became fascinated by the Near Eastern Archaeology and Biblical archaeology. Because of this, she digs her holes most of time in foreign soils, for example Israel or Tunisia. It is her dream to combine bought fields, but only future knows if that will ever come true.
Besides being a student, she earns some money and this by making chocolate in all kinds of flavours and dimensions. But no…don’t ask her…she will not tell you the secrets about it!
In her free time, music is very important. She likes to close her eyes and dream away on the rhythm of a beautiful song. At other times she creates her own tones and music on a viola, recorder, piano, cello, harp or oud. Yes, somewhere she has a preference for stringed instruments. When she picks up her quill and immerse it into the inkpot she can sit there for hours and hours and fill page after page. And when the sun changes for the moon, the carefully bind all the pages together, foresee them from a stamp and send them to a far destination. Every so often she writes poetry or stories too. She likes it to be creative in general, because making something more personal, with a drawing for example, changes the value of a sometimes ordinary object. She loves nature and she likes it a lot to take photographs of the treasures it hide, but she also takes many depictions of aspects of her daily life.
