Sir Pabz

a little Brit different.

About Me

27 year old, (going on) six-year transplant from the UK who works for this very site you are on in lil old Los Angeles. My fancy schmancy title is 'Manager of Consumer Corp. Communications' which means I spread the good word about all the FAN bloody TASTIC content/people on MySpaceTV and MySpace. Previously a new media/PR flak type person for Sony, Activision, Yahoo! Music, Fox, DreamWorks and others. My passion (read: unhealthy obsession) is any and all things technological / shiny (which I write about in my spare time). I am bold, assertive, creative, relentless, passionate, and don't pretend I can do everything.

My Interests

vlogging (though I leave it to the pros), design, architecture, innovative content, stuff that pushes boundaries, stuff that tests me, stuff that tests others, tech, music, verbal sparring, MySpace (duh!), RSS, iPhone (god bless you Jobsy!), method products, brainstorming, Muny/Giant Robot, organization and adverts that entertain as they sell.

I'd like to meet:

more of the same, some different. Pretty much anyone really. Content makers especially welcome. Whoever! Just come correct!

Music:

Hmmm you'll find the following staples on the iPhone...Blue Six, Zero 7, Sia, Nikka Costa, Sugababes and...the one...the only...Madge! That said these people have been known to hang around: Mozez, Solu Music, Aya, Koop, Bent, Muki, Girls Aloud, Garbage, Janet Jackson, Kosheen, Lauryn Hill, Rachel Stevens. *** RIGHT NOW THE HOT SHIZNIT IS: Sam Sparrow and Lady GaGa!

Movies:

Ugh. Recently at least. Recycle much, Hollywood? But those that I will come back to again and again include... The Color Purple, Willy Wonka (original vsn...obviously), The Goonies, Romancing the Stone (god bless you Danny D), Matrix, The Incredibles, Brewster's Millions, Die Hard, Clueless and anything that sports Morgan Freeman bar Chain Reaction (soz Morg).

Television:

is dead. Let's just face it. The DVR has you pinned and is just waiting for you to give up and make better progs/ads. Online video is the way forward (DISCLAIMER: I work for MySpace - specifically MySpaceTV - and this is my PERSONAL opinion.)ONLINE: Rocketboom, EPIC-FU, Wallstrip, TreehuggerTV, VegasRy, Supermasterpiece, AroundTheNet... OFFLINE: Heroes, 24, ER, Top Design, Top Chef, Robin Hood, Ab Fab, CSI, Veronica Mars, X-Files, ANTM, Brothers and Sisters, The Soup, Desperate Housewives, American Idol, Lost, Smallville, Gossip Girl, Pushing Daisies...

Books:

are something I need to make more an effort to read. I'll admit it. I'm a screen junkie. If it's made of papr i'll pass for a quick snippet/blurb/video. I'll be the first to say this is tragic but I'm being honest. Not saying it'll always be this way but for right now it's working. All this said...I'm pretty well read! I'll pick a psychology textbook over most others but generally I have a tendency towards the thick/heavy kind. Good examples of these types of book include Postsecret (love ya Frank!), anything by Phaidon, about architecture, y'know the coffee table variety etc.

Heroes:

A tie. I think I'd choose my parents (they have patience of saints and put up with a lot I have thrown at them) and my sister - is joint first (generally the most spankingliest good person I know). Not forgetting my bezzie Dylan. He's a legend and we are currently apart. This can't be good for the world...
