The beautiful vineyard, which lies alongside Hopper Creek, was planted in a Merlot clone from St. Emillion in Bordeaux, a very rare clone to find in the Napa Valley. 2000 Merlot, Napa Valley
Bright, lush aromas of ripe berries with a fine toasty oak carries directly
onto the palate. A fine balance of fruit, acid, tannins. This is a delicious
wine right now if you have a rack of lamb or a fine steak. Otherwise, give it
a few years to age.

2002 Zinfandel/Los Chamizal Vineyard/Sonoma
Distinct raspberry aromas follow right onto the palate. But the fruit forward
raspberry flavor does not overwhelm the palate. The alcohol, at 13.4% is a
nice contrast to so many 15% and higher zins. Here's a wine that really works
with food. A nice soft tannic backnote is very mellow.
