'KLIK KLAK'. Global Electronic House Muzik...

About Me

KLIK KLAK
Klik Klak, a collaboration of DJ's and producers from around the globe, who share a common interest in delivering good music, and feel strongly about the need in re-educating an audiences understanding of the grey areas between genres within dance music, so we felt it was time to expose an audience to the sounds that excite us, playing trax with an emphasis on quality rather than popularity!
Our selection of time undefined trax that we weave throughout an evening's session is based purely on forward thinking music, not just the latest releases. The terms house, techno, electro and minimal all start to dissolve, amalgamating into a unique audio mush in a similar vein to the original ethos behind the acid house movement of the late 80's.
Our residents Murf, Olsi Rama, and Dog are DJ's who've grown up in symbiosis with this music, and who's record collections outweigh their egos, and whose love for the beats exceeds their curiosity in fame, believing what some DJ's play is an insult to the term 'global electronic house music', for example; the minimal bods won't drop a deep house track, the electro heads don't know the real power of the four four structure. the tech house community have missed the point and prefer to leave tech to one side, whilst the house boys, well, they just don't get it!
As captain of the good ship Klik Klak, the undisputed techno soldier and king of the 72 hour acid set, Murf, former main room resident for The End's Subterrain night, shows us why he opted to stay true to his underground philosophy and host his own party, KLIK KLAK, alongside his resident Albanian upstart Olsi Rama, who tirelessly daydreams about techno music, together they are currently working on their new releases that are due out sometime in the new year, whilst refining their quirky slant towards all things electronic...
Throughout Murf's twenty odd years collecting and playing music, he has travelled worldwide rocking dance floors with his brand of tight techno-acid-minimal-house mash ups at some of the world's finest club night's!! Whilst mooching about abroad Murf has been sourcing out some fresh sounds and talent for KK's future dates, both live and virtual!
During the past year we've seen some excellent DJ's performing at Klik Klak, Darren and Spencer came, saw and delivered, as did the Lavelle brothers Aidan and James, laying down some superb phunked up techno gems alongside the usual tech house killa's, very much like the shit we pull out if given half the chance! Also, it was our pleasure to invite Tobias Rech, part of Frankfurt based distribution crew, Neuton, to London and as promised he arrived loaded with thee latest Test Press offerings from deepest Germany, he'll definitely be returning sometime in the new year with few of his fellow countrymen in tow!
Brighton based record store Covert Records, let loose two of their crew, the Canadian acid-phreek Anwar Russell and Alex Downey aka MorpH, between them the pair have years of experience smashing it up where ever they've played!! Not forgetting Marco DV from Italy who played a corker, dropping a wicked box of trax on our slamming sound system, and Stuart Crossland (our sound man) tweaking and squelching out some excellent sets and giving his rig a good seeing to!
Our long-time resident Dog, has been at the forefront of the Japanese electronic scene since the early nineties, he's promoted numerous parties and was also a co-founder of the Compufunk record store back in his home town of Osaka, Japan! His down-to-earth style has seen him play sets across Asia and Europe, supporting the likes of Underground Resistance, he's also been a guest at DEMF in Detroit! Sadly due to visa issues, Dog has returned to his native Japan, but his flyer and website designs will still be an integral part of Klik Klak, until his return!
We've got some superb guests due 2007 including, the excellent duo of Miles Sagnia & Toby Slade-Baker aka Living City (Fabric Recordings), Hypercolour Recordings honcho Jamie, Asad Rizvi (Reverberations), Future Beat Alliance (Delsin), Aidan Lavelle (Surrender All) and Tom Gillieron (Reverberations) in the pipeline...
