Jesse West, aka 3rd Eye. Born and raised in the Bronx. Bronx River Projects. Anyone over 25 with a knowledge of Hip-Hop history knows how significant that is. Bronx River is where DJ Afrika Bambatta started the Zulu Nation. The rest is history. 1989 Jesse West released his first album titled “No Prisoners”. It was also the first Hip-Hop record released by the world famous Motown Records. He then went on to produce records for artists; Heavy D, KRS One, Notorious B.I.G. (not only did he record Biggie’s first real demo, he was one of the original Hitmen from the Bad Boy production team.), Naughty by Nature, Xzibit, Super Cat, Mary J. Blige(remixed “Reminisce”) Canibus, Funkmaster Flex, Big Pun, Noriega, PMD, Mr. Cheeks, Genius(GZA), Rakeem(RZA), and a whole lot of other artist that are too many to mention. What is interesting is every artist forementioned that he produced, he made a record with as an emcee also. “Most people know me as a Producer, but mostly all the artists I produced know me as an Emcee” “I rhymed on tracks with so many famous people, but I never rhymed on anyone else’s tracks before.” “We were always rhyming on tracks I made. It just always worked itself out that way.” Recently Jesse West changed his name to Dirty Apple Slim, aka Bald-Headed Black Muthafucka. He decided to change his persona to battle in the famous New York Monday Night Fight Klub. “I went up there and destroyed shit! There is no one that can fuck with me when it comes to this battling shit! I dare a nigga!” “Ask International P, Shakim and the rest of them niggas bout Dirty Apple!”. Nowadays Wes is still in the studio writing and Producing. His latest project “Beans’N’Apples” is due for a late spring/early summer release on G.L.O.K. Records. Beans’N’Apples is an album Produced entirely by Jesse West aka Dirty Traxx fum da Projects. The group consists of emcees from New York, and Boston. “We got on the grind and slept in the studio for weeks. Niggas wasn’t going home or changing clothes. It was like we was out of town hustling!” We put together the Beans’N’Apples project to show niggas what can be done when we come together as one, form a master mind, and GRIND!.
