About Me

Born into a musical family in Gary, IN, Trina realized at an early age that she had to either sink or swim (basically, her family was some sangin' fools). Since moving to Los Angeles in '92, the extremely-gifted singer/songwriter has had the pleasure of working with some of the industry's most talented artists and producers: The Underdogs, Kanye' West, Carvin Haggins, Trackmasters, Jermaine Dupri, Ne-Yo, Eric Benet', Mint Condition, 702, Brandy, Will Smith, her oh-so-ridiculous brother Jesse Powell, and Somethin' For The People (with whom she was featured on the smash single 'My Love is The Shhh...'). She has also written for a host of television shows and soundtracks, and recently added NAACP Award nominee to her belt for her contribution to the Mike Phillips 'Uncommon Denominator' CD.ï»¿ datman studios was here wl1

My influences have been pulled from so many different places: the sweet harmonies of The Emotions, The Jones Girls, and The Jacksons; the melodic vocal arrangements of Debarge, Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway; and the amazing vocal dynamics of Kim Burrell, Shirley Murdock, and Stevie Wonder, just to name a few.
