After having spent most of their time in festivals and concert halls, in the audience or simply as volunteers, Gauthier, Julien and Manu realized at the beginning of year 2005 it was high time to form their own band. Their music has been influenced by Tool, Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age, A Perfect Circle... which leads to an explosive coktail of delicate riffs, furious distortions, groovy bass parts and powerful rythms.
Once the premises found they began to compose their first songs and they recruited a drummer and a bass player. Pierrot (drums), an old acquaintance, joined the band and was followed short after by Alane (bass). Unfortunately the musical divergences with Alane and Pierrots exotic safaris prematurely disrupted the line-up. In September 2005 a couple of compositons were finished but Synesthesis (former bands name) hadnt still got anybody to substitute for Pierrot and Alane. And yet the 3 cronies had placed a lot of ads in several media, but nothing, no answer. Consequently they were down in the dumps. However this rough patch was not totally negative. Indeed we took advantage of this situation to put the finishing touches to our first songs and to create others.
Eventually two guys joined the band : Kevin and Blaise. Kev stood for Pierrot as drummer and Blaise straddled his bass like King Arthur his loyal poney. Traits of Metal was born. There was immediately a good chemistry, which resulted in a frenetic period of composition and rehearsal. The band has tried to adopt an atypical and original musical approach with poetic lyrics about frustration, joy and pain. After 2 months of rehearsals our first live performance confirmed our craving for music.
