About Me

Hi, I'm Jake. I play lead guitars and keyboards in a superb heavy rock band by the name of Firegarden. CHECK OUT THE WEBSITE www.firegarden.co.uk. We're also on MYSPACE www.myspace.com/firegardensheffield. The bands been going on for eleven years this year, in various guises, but always with me and my bestest best mate ever, James, at the heart of it. That guy's one of my heros- as is the Doctor! In the day time I work as one of the production managers in a factory that makes furniture. That's a bit dull, though. I'm not doing that forever. Firegarden's gonna make it some day... We just have to keep going... About me then- One of my favourite things of all time is Doctor Who. Let's get that out the way, first. I soddin' love it, ever since 1988 to be precise (I'm great at associating dates with things.)You can call me a sad git if you want, but I'm sticking by this one. I can't really tell you why I'm into it, but's probably cos the Doctor is just such an unconvential hero- Best stop talking about Doctor Who! But it is a big thing in my life. As is composing. I've been bought up on rock music, and that sort of rawness of it, so I love that in music. And I try to bring raw emotion into what I write, either for the band, or for myself. I'm crap at lyrics though. All my lyrics are about being dumped! But there's nowt better than coming in from work, fecked off, then getting the guitar out and giving it some. (It'd be better if I wasn't fecked off, though). I'd consider myself to be quite spiritual. Not necessarily in a religious way, but a more contemplative way. I'm a thinker- mainly of useless things- but a thinker all the same. I do like my own little world and the what-ifs within it. And I think I can explore it through music, so I do like to get the acoustic and get out in a field or a wood and just do a spot of improv with the fairies and pixies! They bloody love it! I am dead shy though, too. And it's something I've never been able to shake off (one day...). I like to read. I think it's a great way of reigniting your imagination. I like writing too- thoughts or just general crap. I think I comunicate better through writing, sometimes. Of course, I'm a lover of ale. And you can see me out around the area, every weekend, either gigging or clubbin' or somat. I'm about to buy a new bed too- so, I'll leave you with that thought. Myspace Graphics
