A rising DJ and producer on the global techno scene, Phil Walls looks set to break into the limelight any time soon. Having over a dozen releases under his belt on labels such as Primate, Yin Yang and Pirate Audio, Phil is working on taking his "seriously funky techno" sound to the next level, the international level. It all started way back when at the age of just seven, when for christmas he received his first set of turntables. Just a cheap kids toy set with two decks and two channel faders, not forgetting the four flashing lights, (no technics at this stage) this gave Phil his first feel of vinyl which set the ball rolling. From then on his love of music and dj-ing grew, and by the time he was thirteen had found the music he really wanted to play. TECHNO !! This was all thanks to the music influence that had come from his older brothers who would bring back countless mix tapes from the world famous Orbit techno club in Morley (R.I.P.) where regular DJ's included the likes of Joey Beltram, Surgeon, Ben Sims and Adam BeyerThe first techno vinyl he got his hands on couldn't have come from a better place. The world famous Tune Inn Records had just moved into new premisses in the near-by town of Selby, and having just got some more new turntables (still no technics) it was time to get a proper record collection. A couple of years later after buying masses of techno from the shop Phil landed a job there working alongside the owner of the business and now long time best mate Pete Gawtry aka Pedro Delgardo. After finishing school Phil went on to music college where he had his first taste of music production. This really got his creative juices flowing as never before had he had the chance to create the music that had been buzzing round in his head for years. Quickly setting himself up with a mini studio set up comprising of just a PC and a pair of monitors, Phil cracked on and started producing his own tracks. His first venture on to vinyl only 6 months after starting out was with a remix for Tec records of London, a tough driving peak timer with a sample taken from a classic 90's house track.Shortly after that Phil followed on with a couple of remixes for Pedro Delgardo's newly started Yin Yang recordings and then his first full release, Yin Yang number 7 the "Sumin Fresh EP". The tough, funky 3 tracker received huge support from some of the biggest DJ's on the scene including the likes of Carl Cox, Valentino Kanzyani, DJ Misjah and Stanny Frannsen. From then on Phil has constantly worked on new music both on his own and in projects with Pedro Delgardo and Ignition Technician signing recent material to Prime Evil, Player and Cobra.
