Biography:In the winter of 2005, a few weeks before New Years Eve, Filip and Billing ran into one another in a cold and windy Malmoe.
Filip had been looking for a drummer for a punkband for some time and since Billing was looking for a punkband to play drums in, they got along just fine.
...not to mention the years of bumping in to one another at partys and such...
In january of 2006 the whole band got together in a local pub and talked the whole thing over and agreed it was a good idea to at least give it a shot. (History proving that to be a good idea...)
A rehearsal room, ready to be invaded by this would-be drunkrock ensemble was already prepped and ready in the murky docks of Malmoe since Billings time as a vocalist in the local, now disbanded quartet named
Deathboot.
After a few weeks of trying on old covers to get the act together some of our classics were created such as
Intoxication and
Crosspissed and other songs now forgotten. After a while we had our first gig at a hotdog kiosk named
Sibylla, together with local heroes
Disco Error. I believe that you can find some videoclips from that gig on youtube.
The gig went well, so we kept rehearsing. And writing songs. And giving concert, especially at Bodoni...
We also recorded a demo in our rehearsalroom that sounded... well, it was good enough for rock and roll. Or, more accurately, drunkrock.
That following summer we had to say goodbye to one of our guitarist,
Bus. It was a great run, but for different reasons we had to go separate ways.
Stevens filled the spot.
Some time passed and we made another demo, this time in a real studio. Better sound this time, better songs. Good, but not great... yet our development, if I may say so, was quite impressive.
Anyhow... we kept on playing and all that. Got to Soelvedsborg among other things. Twice, actually, and some other small towns around Skaane, great fun and good shows!
We changed the lineup once again when we parted ways with
Johan, now in
Nobelkommittén, and
Dave accepted the spot as bassplayer.
As summer approached it came to our attention that
Bad Boy Fred was moving to Stockholm to try new things we had to say goodbye to another founding member. Just before he left we recorded yet another demo, this time with 4 tracks, which was released with the title "Malmö Drunkrock". So, a guitarist that some of the bandmembers knew,
Kenzo from
Disco Error, filled in over the summer and liked the taste of punkrock and became a permanent part of line-up as a guitarist.
Last winter we recorded our 4:th demo, the first one with the current line-up, and that demo came out sounding pretty good. Not to fool ourselves, there is always room for improvement, but the way it is now and where Conshitas is currently heading... there's no stopping
Malmö Drunkrock from going wherever the hell we want it to go.
So... writing new songs, rehearsing, booking gigs, making merch and planning the next recording...
Keep an eye and ear open,
Conshitas is coming your way!
