About Me

"When you make your mark in the world, watch out for guys with erasers," joked Lisa. Though said in jest, that is actually a wise motto from a woman who has worked very hard to carve out her own space in the music industry. Though her parents made her take piano and guitar lessons when she was younger, Lisa was more interested in learning about music business than musical notes. She started studying business management in college and became fascinated with the music industry, diving into books on music publishing and the biz. “My background is more professional,” she said. “I was managing my friend's hip-hop group and consulted most of my peers who were on the creative side.” Then she worked at Music Reports, Inc. as a Music Research/Licensing Assistant for about three years before coming to ASCAP three and a half years ago. “I think the most remarkable aspect of my job is coordinating events with the R&S team and meeting new friends,” she said. But this California girl isn’t all business and no play. "My dad brought me up in the auto world, so don't be surprised if you see me racing down the block in the Cali sun," she said. - Written by Jin Moon

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson
"When you make your mark in the world, watch out for guys with erasers." - Unknown
"Always keep your friends close, but your enemies keep closer." - J. Wallace
"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." - Herm Albright
"As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin." - Unknown

Heroes:

I love my family and friends. My family keeps me grounded. My friends speak the truth. They're the ones who lift me up and won't bring me down.
