There is no crying in baseball

About Me

I suppose the main reason anyone would care that I'm on here is because I'm the singer for the Toronto band The Birthday Massacre. Oh... but I'm so much more complex than that. Just kidding. All I am really trying to achieve in life is the ability to just constantly nap, really. Like, nap a lot. PREGIOLLA!

My Interests

Knitting. Drawing. Reading. Writing. Overthinking. Basking in irrationality. Making up words. Probably should add "singing" here, heh. Researching things I enjoy, like certain historical periods. Writing essays for fun, and I'm not lying. Obsessing over shows I watched when I was a child. Playing with my kitties. Making cupcakes, "etc". Hating Comic Sans in a BIG WAY. It's everywhere and it SUCKS!! Oh, and playing "The Beast and the Harlot" from Guitar Hero 2, with my sis, on HARD. Guitar or bass, I don't care...

I'd like to meet:

Johnette Napolitano. Slash.

Music:

Concrete Blonde. Faith No More. Deftones. Type O Negative. Guns N Roses. Metallica. The Monkees. The Ronettes. Springsteen. Rick Springfield. Poison, Skid Row, Warrant, Damn Yankees, and many other bands of this ilk, but mainly for their power ballads. I'll make you a list sometime of the most killer power ballads ever. I totally collect them.

Movies:

The Last of the Mohicans. Aliens. Edward Scissorhands. Witness. Kalifornia. Playing By Heart. The Blair Witch Project. Beauty and the Beast (Disney). Terminator, all of them. Star Wars, all of them (notably excluding the Phantom Menace, and notably including the Empire Strikes Back). Session 9. Heathers. The Stepford Wives (original version).

Television:

Degrassi Junior High. Degrassi High. OLD SCHOOL DEGRASSI, none of this Next Generation nonsense!!! Those awesome A&E true crime programs like Cold Case Files, American Justice and stuff. I don't watch much TV. Just the crime stuff. Oh, and I totally forgot JUST FOR LAUGHS GAGS. The only thing that's really worth watching. I have cried from laughing at this show.

Books:

Anything by Frances Gordon, notably "Thorn", "Blood Ritual", "Wildwood". "It" by Stephen King. "The Eagle and the Raven" by Pauline Gedge. True crime books of any sort. "Night in the Lonesome October" by Richard Laymon. "The Name of the Rose" by... Umberto Eco, I believe. "The Girl Who Owned a City" by OT Nelson. Margaret Atwood: "The Handmaid's Tale", "Edible Woman", "Cat's Eye", "The Blind Assassin" and basically everything she's ever written. "Stranger With My Face" by Lois Duncan. "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, but the sequels are bad. "Fritz and the Beautiful Horses" by I can't remember. "The Beast" by Martyn Godfrey. "The Rope Dancer" by Roberta Gellis. The Ramona books and "Ellen Tebbits" by Beverly Cleary. "Exquisite Corpse" by Poppy Z Brite. "The Lottery and Other Stories" by Shirley Jackson. "The Stranger Beside Me" by Ann Rule. ALL the Choose Your Own Adventure books. And the Which Way books, like "Castle of No Return" and "Invasion of the Black Slime". "The Romantic" by Barbara Gowdy.

Heroes:

Johnette Napolitano. The Nine Days' Queen. My cat Kisou. Anyone with the ability to fall asleep quickly. Ripley and Hicks. Anne Boleyn. Mileena. Alita/Gally. Anyone who still believes in manners and decorum. People who read. Zimmy. Freakin' Caruso. A certain handsome boy who just learned to knit and is 1/5 finished his first scarf as of November 24, 2007.
