Ten Steps Away is a strong progressive rock band with a big sound and a lot of heart. On and off the stage, you can always see their passion for rock 'n roll.
Formed by singer/guitarist Aggi in 2005 the band started out as a soft rock group, taking a step towards the heavy sound they would be known for when Krissi (Drummer) came on board and the former bassist and guitarist left to find that softer sound that they were so passionate about.
Things were moving now. Aggi was writing more meaningful songs and while writing it was realised that Ten Steps Away had to go all the way and needed a second guitarist and bassist to do this.
In November 2006, Aggi showed Össi, a childhood friend, a demo he had recorded in his room. The demo had computerized drums chained to a great rock 'n roll sound led by heavy metal guitar riffs that made Össi fall into Aggi's lap and scream for more! Össi (guitarist/screamer) who had been playing in various bands from the age of thirteen, asked Aggi if he could join the band. Aggi had always admired Össi's musical prowess and decided to give Össi a shot. The next day Össi brought his rock solid attitude, heavy guitar sound and great vocals to the duo and they soon became a strong progressive rock trinity.
The search was now on. One more member and Ten Steps Away would have the rock band that they dreamed of and they would finally be able to get into the studio to start recording! After some search, this little dot know as Donaz came onto their radar and wowed them with his black jeans, leather jacket, long dark hair and pretty smile. Donaz was someone the band had met before and everyone admired his work ethic and rock 'n roll look, so it was no competition when he auditioned and got the spot! With a powerful rock bass sound that put the melody in your face when it was needed, the band was now complete and could start recording! Two demos were recorded in February at the magnificent Error Studios with Egill Örn and Ragnar as producers, and soon they'll be back to record more music with more attitude and ambition, music which will rip you from your seat and make you strip and scream like a beast!
Due to personal reasons, Krissi left the band in May. Donaz, coming to the rescue, introduced them to Orri, a god on drums with a sense of humor and smile to warm any heart! From the first song Ten Steps Away heard him play they knew he was the guy they wanted.
Ten Steps Away is on their way up the mountain, and the weather's supposed to be awesome up there, sunny skies and great views, so they can't wait to stand on the top!
