Da Survivorz

Representing South Memphis, TN Da Survivorz are a force to be reckoned with in the rap music industry. The current group members are Lil B(Chug), and SteveBrat(Da Scholar) and CA. Lil B and SteveBrat, who happen to be brothers, discovered their love for rap music while watching their older brother W-Def (now known as Willie FireCracker) record and perform rap music in Memphis in 1989.As younger brothers do, they would soon follow in his footsteps. By 1997 they found themselves recording songs over instrumentals in a bedroom in their parents house. Soon after, while attending Tennessee State University, they hooked up with a childhood friend that liked the music they were doing and set up a studio session for them at a studio in West Memphis, Arkansas. At this studio session they met CA and they also found out that another guy they grew up with in South Memphis named Mac Losaphe rapped.CA began his rap career in Memphis in the mid 90s recording songs on local Memphis rapper Tommy Wright IIIs albums. He soon ventured off and began working on pursuing his solo career. In 1998 while recording material for his album he met Lil B, SteveBrat and Mac Losaphe. In a matter of a couple of hours the four had recorded 5 songs together and from that day forth they would be a group that would be known as Da Survivorz.In 1999 they released their first album "Blood Sweat & Tearz" under their label Dig Dat Records. The album had moderate success but due to legal woes amongst other setbacks, the group was forced to put their rap careers on hold. Now, with only 3 active members, Da Survivorz are back and ready to show the world what makes them special and sets them apart from their peers.

Still Survivin' is Da Survivorz sophomore release from Dig Dat Records and just like their debut album "Blood Sweat & Tearz" it is a classic. The entire album, except for 2 tracks, is produced by Free Blak Productions which consists of Da Survivorz and Derrick FoReal. The album, a 19 song project that includes 3 interludes and an intro, is one of the best albums to be released this year. This album is a classic and a must have.
