About Me

Jae Millz is that rare artist that stands out above the rest. Repping Harlem, New York in the vein of artists before him that include Doug E. Fresh, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Camron, Mase and the legendary late Big L, Jae Millz is destined to be the next great lyricist for the new generation of fans. With his status as an underground legend secure, he was set to make his major label debut with the heavily anticipated SRC/Universal Records release Back To Tha Future in 2006. But due to that powerful word called "Politics" that never happened.
Born in New Yorks Washington Heights, Jae recalls his earliest memories of music through his familys diverse record collection that included musical giants Barry White, Al Green and Prince. It was while attending New York's High School of Art and Design that Jae Millz honed his lyrical abilities in the lunchroom, battling all comers. After taking his verbal ferocity out on the streets of Harlem, the then teenage emcee was noticed by Tupac Shakur's wife at the time, Keisha Morris, who introduced him to the well-connected forces behind Wanna Blow Entertainment. Soon after that pivotal moment, Jae was soaking up game from some of raps biggest talents including P. Diddy, Lil Kim, Mysonne, and Mase, whom he credits with making an indelible impression on him.
After dropping exclusive freestyles and songs for New York mixtape moguls DJ Kay Slay, DJ Bike Mike, DJ Whoo Kid & DJ Enuff, Jae Millz became an icon in the streets, and the industry buzz grew rapidly. Diddy enlisted Jae to appear on 2003's popular MTV reality series Making The Band for a freestyle battle with E. Ness. Jae was dominating the mixtape and underground battle rhyme scene, and by late 2004 he was riding high with a new deal at Warner Bros. and the thumping single "No, No, No." Following the release of the single, fans waited anxiously for the album to drop, but it never happened, and they parted ways with the label. Within two weeks of leaving Warner Bros., Wanna Blow had two deals on the table for Jae. The team decided to go with Universal Records, and Jae went on to put out street and club bangers like "Streetz Melting", produced and featuring Mr. Showtime himself , Swizz Beatz. "Who" , "I Like That", Produced and featuring Miami Sound kings, Cool & Dre (Which was featured on tha soundtrack of the 2006 film "Take The Lead"). In 2006 , Jae also released the Ron Browz produced Club Anthem "Bring It Back" featuring Jadakiss , and most memorable , the Scott Storch Produced Banger "My Swag". Jae was also featured on the remix of the biggest song in 2006. Chamillionaire's "Ridin' Dirty" featuring Millz & Papoose.
Since leaving Universal Records in January 2007, Jae has continued to keep his street buzz sizzling and continued to keep continuous airplay on the airwaves , with numerous freestyles and his famous Wannawhat Remixies. In 2007 he also dropped "The Time Is Now". An official mixtape distributed to mom & pop stores and selected retailers all across the eastern region. But his latest success comes with "Holla At A Playa", another street club banger produced by new super producer J. Cardim. I could rap, make music and shine anywhere in this world. Any region, any coast, it don’t matter" he explains. "I have down South music, music for the ladies, music for people struggling, music for true Hip Hop lovers. In all honesty, Im a rappers rapper, and I make music for everybody, because at the end of the day Im human. I go through the same things that everybody else goes through."
As the hip hop community and all of his fans know , Jae is one of those artist that just seems to be that one big song away. But he still remains calm and collective like a true Harlem hustler should. "Making an album is comfortable - its like your diary," he continues. "You dont even have to talk some bullsh*t, you can talk what you go through. As much as people want to hear you talk some funny shit and floss and front, they want to know what you go through and know that youre human. They want to feel like youre on the same level as them. I try to put a lot of reality into my songs, and with this album I want people to understand that I can spit and I do the battles and freestyle and have fun, but I take my music very seriously."
Jae has recorded with everybody from Slim Thug , Paul Wall, Fat Joe, T.I, P$C , Fabolous, Jadakiss, Remy ma, Chamillionaire, Papoose, Pitbull, Cam'ron, Juelz Santana , Mysonne & Maino. To Cool Dre , Swizz Beatz, Ron Browz, Dj Khaled, Dj Quik, The Heatmakers, Alchemist, Amadeus, Omen & Scott Storch.
Jae Millz knows that his musical vision will continue to grow, and his business mind will benefit from his experiences. In the long run, he would like to see his label prosper and bring in new talent. "I want Wanna Blow to evolve into a really musical label," he explains. "Whatever it is, I just want to give people chances, because labels arent giving people chances these days - you need a cosigner. We dont need that now - we didnt have that and were still doing what we do.
