About Me

Vendas Novas (originally from Angers) have found their unique capability to boil up neighborhooded Belgian Techno/Industrial influences with French based 'post 2000' dance electronic to serve an eccentered (means made outside of Paris) dish that is something like Dub-Tech-Elektro.The debut of Vendas Novas named meaningful BARRY BLACK has digged up Industrial Music in a way of playful freshness. Yet, moreover a mainly 4/4 kick drum and upon the rhythm based swinging melodies make it easily be put on a Tech-Elektro shelf. Their reflection of past musical areas is no means to an end. These influences are more used by Vendas Novas as impish elements. Even almost insoluble mixtures are Vendas Novaccess-able being stirred as proven in songs such as 'Find Her And Catch Her' (a kind of P-Funk feeling on techno grooves) or Striking Up - the new smasher from Radio Sasha (something like ragga moves on acid ravers feet). On the new 12 RADIO SASHA Jérôme Pinçon does not invent any new structures. He just consolidated the Vendas Novas sound: a reduced raise. Classically, side a] is the floor oriented side (Striking Up - see above), whereas side b] presents dub-tech electro and a remix by the English rooted Berlin based External Hard Drive.Vendas Novas that is mainly the producer Jérôme Pinçon, who used to work on live presentation togeher with dj Gérald Peau (Jess), and who invited for the debut album the female singer Carole Gola. To represent the leading vocals on a couple of tracks Pinçon uses vocoders and of course sample bits&pieces, however since the very beginning his live set is a dance set, where songs become broken up to tracks. From mid 2005 on Pinçon (pseudonym is Grom the General Midi) plays live alone on stage, partly accompanied by Sir Charles, the bands visualist, doing live video animations.
