what can i tell ya. hm. well, i'm a happy girl. give me a fiddle and a campfire, and i'll be busy for hours. i am a leo through and through. my friends rock. and i miss them terribly when i'm away (they know this, i tell them how much i love them every chance i get). i live near nagoya, japan, with my sweet grrl lesley (who's from dubbo, australia). we've been here for a few years now, though recently took a trip back to canada and then to australia to visit friends and family and get back into the music scene. i drive a scooter - a vino - it's black and cream with chrome, and i love her. her name is margaret. and well, i have to amend my original statement about myself. i can now say, with completel confidence, that i am a NON-SMOKER and cannot believe i ever smoked. how did i do it? not sure yet. but it's been since june 2006 and i just never want to smoke again. as for the drinking, well, can't drop ALL my vices now can i?i need to update this soon... for now, i'll tell you that we've been jamming with 'fatblueman' - these cool cats from winnipeg who play tunes that fit a fiddle quite nicely. we'll be heading home for a trip in august, with stops most certainly in winnipeg, west hawk lake, clear lake, sandy lake, and to the wickdahl homestead in erickson. looking forward to catching up with friends and family, and finally FINALLY meeting our nephew, dylan!! bad aunties... unfortunately, he'll be just over one year old by the time i get to squeeze his little cheeks. on the upside, he has a free ticket to japan or australia whenever his little heart desires. .. I'd like to meet:

i've already met so many awesome people, i don't know who i can put here. i can tell you who YOU might like to meet... if you ever end up in winnipeg, manitoba, just wander into times change(d) and say hello to whoever's playing. trust me, those are the folks who you want to meet.

Music:

yes. all the time.i have been fortunate enough to be blessed with good genes, and i play fiddle, guitar, banjo, bass, and piano with varying degrees of success. my family used to play for dances, weddings, anniversaries, and every other small town event you can think of back when i was a child.

Movies:

recently rented motorcycle diaries and city of god - great films.

Television:

we have sky perfect satellite here. in reality, we only get about 7 channels that are in english. on the upside, one of them is BBC. on the downside, another one of them is CNN. ahhh well, i certainly do appreciate the entertainment value of it all.

Books:

i'm really loving canadian authors lately, especially stuff that flows from the minds of east coasters. joan clark and anne marie macdonald are a couple of my favorites. "fall on your knees" will always be my ichiban.

Heroes:

my mom, my dad, my grandparents. and bela fleck and ani.
