The Nice Outfit is a powerhouse, paint peeling pop combo based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Boasting a fab guitar duo in Terry Hackbarth and Paul Wall and a top rhythm section in Joe Kirschling and Quinn Scharber, the Outfit is the sound of a tidal wave crashing into Brian Wilsons sandbox as if the summer would never end.
Tough, good time garage mod, not afraid of doing a Monkees and a Magazine song in the same set. Brill Building as the Now Sound!
The Nice Outfit has been shaking things up in Milwaukee since the spring of 2002 with their wild, upbeat shows including an opening slot for Sixties British Invasion icons The Zombies as well as greasy pop outfit The Figgs.
The Nice Outfit formed from the ashes of teen idols The New Blind Nationals (Sparkler Records) and as an off-shoot of power pop heroes Trolley and Quinn Scharber and the Grad School Rejects. Road ready and kid approved; the Outfit is driving to the gig with nitro in the tank. Watch for their e.p. release on Easter Records this spring. And the summer never ends...
The Onion gave this review:
"The Nice Outfit's high-energy, '60s-inspired pop might sound familiar to Trolley fans, which isn't suprising, as both bands feature the power-pop braintrust of bassist (actually guitarist) and guitarist Paul Wall. But Hackbarth takes the lead in The Nice Outfit, which gives a slightly wilder--though no less melodic--edge to the head-shakingly danceable rock action."
