About Me

Risen up from the foundation days of hip hop - Emcee Mechanism - Philly's newest rap phenomenon, is taking it Back to the Streets. Roshid Milledge better known as E.m.c.e.e Mechanism "The Articulate One" has been on the Philly hip-hop scene for quite some time. Mechanism comes from the ranks where mc's had to rock the basement, rooftop and block parties to gain respect. In the late-eighties, after paying his dues he received a reputation as a credible mc and garnered enough energy to place him on "Lady B's "Street Beat radio show on Power 99 Fm" . There he entered the battle of mc's for local supremacy (todays American Idol) and won 12 weeks straight.Soon there after he was recruited by the Philly legendary rap group "Tuff Crew" . He bagan co-writing and arranging for the group, his efforts paid off when the groups single "My Part of Town" was a huge success on the east coast and remains a Philly classic to this day.In August of 1991 Mechanism along with DJ Too Tuff, was featured in the Source Magazine's UNSIGNED HYPE section. The Source has called the Articulate One's style "straight up hard core North Philly rap". In 2004 Mechanism was featured in the Philadelphia Daily news and has been described as an "above par mc with a polished style". Philly's own legendary "Lady-B" has described his style as "refreshing". In additon to working with "Tuff Crew" Mechanism has performed and worked with the likes of Peddi-Peddi Low-Down (King of G-town), Joey Wells, Supreme (Da Regulata), Dat Boy Dave, The Roots, and R&B group As Yet.Mechanism feels that his style is positive and raw. He uses no gimics, violence, or profanity to get his message across. Roshid the person, wants to put to push Mechanism the performer, to promote hip-hop in the most positive light possible and bring back the essence of showmanship where hip-hop made you feel good when you listed to it. No matter what the trend is for the "moment" Mechanism will always blaze his own path, reppin' the city of Philly to the fullest. It's no surprise that's his goal when his inspiratons are: God, Malcom X, Quincy Jones,Russell Simmons, "P" Diddy Combs, LL Cool J, 2pac,Tavis Smiley,Wyclef, Will Smth, and Bob Marley music layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com music / movies
