Real Life is a seperate breed of entertainer. Combining the elements of hip-hop, r&b, rock music and creative writing, he has been able to develop and display one of the most original styles of music delivery since the early days of rap music. With his intelligent, controlled, energetic flow, Real Life has been able to move and impress crowds for well over seven years.
Real Life was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Life was hard for most families in the area so people used a strong family structure and music to keep things level. Real recalls being a very young boy of five or six when the parents of the children on the block took turns putting the speakers to their stereos out of the window for the children to hear and dance to every weekend. It was during these times that he recalled at the time heard what we now know would be the prelude to his ultimate goal and dream in life. It was a rap song. The song was King of Rock. The group was Run-DMC. It was the 16 beat and the simple poetic rhyme that attracted Jasy to the group. It was then that he began trying to mimic the sound and learn the words to the song. That technique, which involved playing and stopping the song from a tape and writing the words, turned into him taking the format of the songs he liked and changing the words to fit his own songs. He studied the likes of Run-DMC, LL Cool J, O.C. ( the whole d.i.t.c.), Big Daddy Kane, Kool Moe Dee, Kool G. Rap, Craig G, Masta Ace, Heavy-D, and L.O.N.S. and more recently Fat Joe, Big Pun, Cuban Link, Notorious BIG, Tupac Shakur, Canibus and Jay-Z. Through the years he worked hard in various groups and on his own to find his voice. He had his first recording session in 1999 and has not looked back since. Once he started, his music has become somewhat of a phenomenon.
Real is the type of artist that is fully invested in his craft. From paying for his own studio time, to paying for all of his own travel expenses to perform and spread the message in his music. He is a commercial performer and a solid professional. From songs that boast of his lyrical prowess to ballads about real life relationships, Real has music of substance for everyone. He has worked and performed with various artists and producers in the business. From production in Philadelphia at A Touch Of Jazz studios, Freshtrax, Third Story Recordings, Tainted Labs and Deuce One Fifth ent. to performances at The Five Spot, The Terminal, Club 027, The Starlight Ballroom, The Clef Club and A Brave New World, Real has touched a wide range of fans and artists in kind from his home town. He has also worked with producers and performed in many states including New York, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Real Life works closely with his friends that are also trying to break into the music business. Real Life has several goals for his career in the music business. He plans on securing a major label record deal and persue his dreams of producing and developing new artists as well as eventually starting his own company. Real also plans on expanding his writing talents in the area of r&b music. Real has written for and with artists such as Christopher Fortune(Phila.), Manage ( Pennsylvania), Nikki Artis (New York), Vera (N. Carolina), The Twinn Towerz ( Jacksonville Fl.), Shermon ( Miami, Fl.)
