My name is Daniel Beasley. First of all I'm nothing without my lord and savior Jesus Christ and the blood he shed for my sins years ago. My battles are already fought and won, so I'd advise not to even try to hate. I was born in Tallahassee Florida. During my life I have moved around alot. I have also lived in Georgia, California, and currently kicking it in Colorado. The only thing constant in life is change, so as a man I have found that the only way to survive is to flow like a river and not to go against time. If you need hooked on phonics this is the end of my profile. (STOP)........ In high school I ran track, cross country, sung in the choir, and also sung the national anthem at games. I also performed cover tunes from the groups GUY,Boys to Men, and Shy for major pep ralleys and games. Even though I was homless for a good part of high school.. I maintained a 3.8 GPA and was nominated by my peers as Most Talented out of the whole school. The streets were no place for me, so I graduated early and got into the delayed entry program with the U.S. Army. While serving in the U.S. Army I was in two hostal environments(Danger Zones)..Mogdishu Somalia and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. During those two deployments I entered talent shows and sung in church to assist with maintaining sanity including my own. Bombs and gun fire can mess a persons day up pretty bad. (LOL)To maintain, I started to write my songs at night; to avoid getting shot at. My first song DRIP DROP was written on a rainy night in Somalia on the back of an MRE(Meal Ready to Eat) box the Armys delicious version of a TV Dinner(LOL). The sound of guns being fired put me to sleep at times. I was getting way too used to the violence. My pants may not sag, but alot of these want- to- be thugs don't need to judge a book by it's cover. I sing because it is a positive way to vent instead of beating people down for fun. (LOL)When I got back to the states, I started a group called Infinity and performed in local night clubs. We recieved the most recognition at Club Mixx in Denver where the original Major of BETs Rap City Chris Thomas hosted a Def Comedy Jam show. To our surprise, Bob Summner.. Vice President under Russell Simons of Def Jam records sat in the audience. This was during the time when they were signing R&B acts like Montel Jordan and Case. He showed interest, but our group broke up(due to internal envy and jealousy) before we even negoticiated anything. No more group. No more product.At that point I had given up on music and went to school and got an Associates in Science at Denver Tech. Money was low, so I got a job at the local hospital and at the Community Health Center here in Colorad Springs.I song at a karaoke show and the owner of the business liked me so much that he hired me. The show at the Ace of Spades tripled in business during the time that I took over. I was the first person in the Springs to combine dance music with live entertainment in a Karaoke/Open mic show..Complications came when other clubs wanted to hire me. The owner of that business said that they would fire me if I(straddled the fence) worked anywhere else on a different night, but did not want to pay me to be exclusive; so I brought my own equipment and started my DJ and Karaoke company named: Mellow D Productions.Under my own Company Mellow D Productions I was able to quit the hospital, and triple my income by private contracting at Wedding, Schools, and at many local clubs La Jazz Affair, Prime Time Tavern, Party Zone(now closed due to violence), Whazzup Tavern, Celeberties Night Club,Club 33(now closed) and the Alumini. Music has come back into my life and I won't let it slip away this time. People from all over has asked me to put my own material together.. no more cover tunes for me. I am influcenced by Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Luther Vandros. Artists mostly requested for me to sing are: Prince...Do Me Baby....Jonny Gill... My My MY... Luther Vandross ...Here and Now, And Maxwell...Fortunate. If you heard me sing these songs you would think you were listning to the real thing.
