About Me

. . .
part magic,
part mysticism,
sugar & sass,
litany & profanity,
complete with
red & tangly
tasty bits
. . .

.: the ethe(real) :.
I am
a monstrous and lithe energy
just barely contained
in this luminous soft-candy shell.
right handed and dual-brained
hard on the heart
and easy on the eyes.
I am
always hungry
often cold
but a lover of sleep
which soothes both.
I am moving towards daydreams
that are intensely private
but talk too much in my writing
and laugh too loudly
and give me away.
I am
singing my own song
painting my own image
writing my own story
photographing my own vision
and the whole of the work
fills my entire body with its art
and resonates with purpose in my mind.
I am
sometimes cruel
particularly judgmental
and that is my protection.
still - i am
capable of profound love
and understanding and gentility
and that is my gift.
I am
the ace at seeing good
or at least morbid humor
in the worst possible things.
I am
not afraid of much
except losing someone slowly.
I am
terribly sarcastic
unwilling to accept "no"
impossibly stubborn
frustrated by time
and this means
I can do anything
once i learn how to carve the hours out
and forgive myself and others
for the occasional loss of ambition.
I am
constantly improving
by ups and downs
and always looking
for a new way to love
everyone i know
and especially
those i don't,
because, through love
i am.
.: the technical :.
i'm 34, born June 19th, 1972 - a female, 3/4 time student of Psychology, a former childhood Navy-brat born on Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor Washington, no children, mostly full-time job.
i'm a voracious reader, a prolific writer , a terrific listener, a dedicated people watcher (windshield psychology), a good friend, a photographer , a singer and guitar player, a music and wine appreciator and a lover of cats. Odin , my kitty co-pilot, is a sepia snow-marble Bengal, which is a domesticated exotic breed: a cross between an Asian Leopard and an Egyptian Mau.
i trade my time for money as a genius waitress and by completing odd contract jobs in freelance writing and photography. I consider myself a photographer hobbyist who enjoys nature and shoots primarily digital. i spend much of my time in Maryland and Virginia stomping through the woods, chasing butterflies, combing grass, lifting leaves and getting muddy. Though i prefer to be out in the field, i also enjoy event photography, portraiture and photographing pets (particularly my beloved Odin).
i believe in the barter system and everything is fine so long as i eat, the bills get paid, i continue my education, live relatively stress free and enjoy my life.

I'd like to meet:

my Joe . . . all over again.

Dreamers, dancers, writers, laughers, leapers, singers, strangers, searchers, nap-takers, bakers, wine-drinkers, deep-thinkers, painters, poets, photographers, quilters, gunslingers, conversationalists, chocolatiers, magicians, visionaries, superheroes, surrealists, cat-lovers, kite-flyers, star-gazers, nite-drivers, spangle-makers, beekeepers, teachers, yogis, alchemists, wizards, witches, cartographers, yeo(wo)men, silversmiths, clothiers, vintners, passionate people with integrity & clarity and believers in the fundamental interconnectedness of all things.

i don't mind a little mystery and intrigue, but don't appreciate narcissism, ticket-punchers, people who treat friendships, sex and intimacy like an oil-change and the lies that accompany leading a double-life. if you'd like to know me - READ ME. if you'd like to befriend me, write me. if you're out here collecting MySpace faces like trading cards, there's nothing to see here . . . git along little dogies.
whether you are friend, lover, mate or other - please be sociable, polite, humourous, thoughtful, affectionate, passionate, emotional but not too messy, domesticated but well-traveled, adventurous but not utterly reckless, endearing, inspired and inclined to create.
