currently the life and work of guy bourdin
Interesting people..it helps when they are not to full of themselves.. Having said that, some people deserve extra credit..such as:
Hama Yôko, Bob Dylan, The Smiths, Sudden Infant, Depeche Mode, Editors, Grace Jones,I-F, John Cage, Kraftwerk, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Roxy Music, Soft Cell, Valerie Dore, Yello, Philip Glass, The North Sea Radio Orchestra, David Bowie, Devo, Utada Hikaru, The Super Fury Animals and of course Abba
Radio On, brilliant english road movie with excellent soundtrack!Dark Star, by John Carpenter. It also features my favourite alien pet, an inflated rubberball with crow feet and a rather lethal sense of humour.
Prison Break...that doctor is cute...
Ever heard of Joris-Karl Huysman? Me neither, until my friend recommended A Rebours (Against Nature)...written in 1884. A rare read, marvellously painting in microscopic detail the life of a true excentric. In The Picture of Dorian Gray Ocar Wilde refered to it as the yellow-backed French novel lent to his hero by Lord Henry. When crossexamined in court about this book, Wilde did identify it as Huysmans A Rebours but he refused to say anything about its morality or immorality; to ask a writer to pass judgement on a fellow writer's work was, he said 'an impertinence and a vulgarity'.Also, I really recommend Hunger, by Knut Hamsum. This guy apparently, after being diagnosed with terminal TB, cured himself by sitting on top of a train with his mouth wide open for a three day journey to NY. A good start for a life in a new town, i'd say.
mh...don't like the sound of 'Heroes'...i like my close friends and have respect for those that make the world a more enjoyable place. On that note a big thank you to the guy who fixed my bike the other day! Thank you very much for sorting it out!
