My Interests

Mia and I have decided to train for a triathalon. This is our inspiration.

I'd like to meet:

Myself as a nurse...maybe five years from now. My wife in a darkened hotel room with two bottles of red wine, some grapes and chocolate, blindfolds, and time to kill.

Music:

Anything 80s. Favorite bands include INXS, U2, Queen, Men At Work, Men Without Hats, Split Enz, Metallica, etc. Anything with a good beat that I can dance to. Anything that motivates me to get up and move. Mia likes classical music, especially Mozart. I'm also a big fan of movie soundtracks, again for the motivating and moving forces at work there. Music that moves me emotionally is what I like.

Movies:

We like a lot of movies.

Television:

Project Runway. Insipid reality shows like Surreal Life. Things that are like car accidents that you don't want to watch, but you can't help doing so. Plastic surgery, trauma, 300 lb. tumor removal, seperating twins adjoined at the trachea...you know, that sort of thing. Oh, and Barney.

Books:

Finished Cold Mountain, and now reading a combo of Series of Unfortunate events, Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul, and Eric Carr's triathalon training book. Mia just finished Frank McCourt's ("Angela's Ashes" & "Tis") third book "Teacher Man" and has now started "Gone With The Wind" Oh, and of course my 8,000 lb. nursing books. Diabetes Mellitus...fun fun...

Heroes:

Karl's hero is Mia. Other inspirations to Karl are Joe Wholleb, Janice Anderson, Terry Seitz, Kit Riggs, and my sister, Kris. I'm sure there are others.
