*Gildan Ultra Cotton Reaxis T!* Reaxis - like Weezer - is a silly name but easy to Google.... Hi everyone. My name is Jimmy, and I used to be in this alternative rock band called Reaxis. As of November 2006, we have disbanded to pursue other interests due to creative differences. I could have had someone else write this for me, or, I could've written this in the 3rd person. But, I will write this from my point of view, because its personal. We've played our hearts out for you, and you've connected with us- with our music. You deserve to read this from me.
Reaxis was a project started a little over 3 years ago with a mission to create some interesting rock music. We had all come from defunct bands before. Bryan, Sean, Scott and myself had all come together with experience and the extreme hunger to bring our music to the world. It has been quite the ride... Literally! We toured the Northeast several times over (150 shows!), playing with Seether, Collective Soul, Buckcherry, and hundreds of amazing local bands (that I have learned so much from!).
Our journey took so much hard work. All the success we had, no matter how small, came with a price. We were starved and tired. I personally worked several jobs, and was a professional guinea pig for experiments (don't worry, most of it was non-evasive...most), all while booking, creating, and braving the obstacles. We were poor, and constantly struggling uphill that is the dysfunctional music scene. Who knew that music always had to revolve around sporting events and liquor? I was naive. I thought we could change all that- despite the fact that the surrounding bands, clubs and local music bullshit politics wanted us to fail at every possible stage.
The only thing that got us this far was our respect for one another, and for our "fans (I prefer "friends")." Nothing would satisfy us more than when you guys would email us, saying how much the music meant to you. Nothing would affect us more than when you would absolutely bug us - begging us for more music, and for us to play in your hometown. YOU are the reason we continued, you are the reason we even thought we could get as far as we did.
We didn't give a flying shit about making millions. We didn't care about flashy cars, mansions, maids, or image. We just wanted to bring you guys great music. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the rest of the guys' hearts... If you know me at all, you know I am being nothing but sincere and honest.
This has been a roller coaster of a ride... peaks, valleys and everything in between. We couldn't have done it without the few generous bands we have met (you know who you are), Osprey Ent, Anthem Ent, Streamline Ent, Knucklehead Strings, and the few bookers and club owners who swear on doing things the right way ( you know who you are).
I would like to thank Bob and Patty (the best techs in the world) for taking care of me and my gear. I could never repay you for all that you have taught me.
Thank you Kim Vigilia for putting up with me, and helping us with all our artwork, promotional needs, and for fostering my dreams.
Thank you Bryan and Sean for taking on this project with me. I look back, and I still can't believe you guys stuck it out with me this long. I was a guy with a dream, and no equipment! Thank you both for your trust and patience, I look up to both of you as my brothers- always have. Thank you Scott for always putting a smile on my face, and taking care of me when I needed you most.
Thank you Albert for always believing in me, and truly supporting me in this ridiculous dream. You always looked out for me. I'll never forget how our talks seemed to pull me through the hard times.
Thank you Athol (you crazy kids...), Boston, CT, RI, NYC.. I know who came out to see us over and over again, and who wished us well. I can honestly say we loved you all very much, just for giving us a chance.
Thank you Joe for lending us a hand on the low end, we shared a ton of laughs. Jon, we only started to get to know you, but we could have been the best of friends... I feel like we've been friends for years already.
We're leaving this band in hopes that we had a positive impact on the northeast, and perhaps sparsely across the country. We couldn't thank you enough for your support... We are forever in your debt, really. I'm sure we will all continue to play music, and be sharing our tunes for the world to digest soon.
