The Chemist Vs. The Computer on AP.net
BIOGRAPHY There's been an ongoing conflict between creator and creation. Creators commence creating. Creations begin creating. Modifying and simplifying. At what point does the creation surpass the predecessor? The answer: As soon as we wish to uninvent it.
The Chemist vs. The Computer are five young men from Crown Point, IN. They began to immediately take the competitive Northwest Indiana music scene by storm. Hitting the ground running, these young men managed to snag opening spots with bands such as KillWhitneyDead, The Demonstration, Fear Before the March of Flames, Hot Cross, Kaddisfly, This Will Destroy You, and Brazil within the span of but one year.
Currently the state of modern music is in the midst of a metal dominated, hardcore beatdown driven era. The lighter side of independent music sees similar monotonous issues, with the next Devil Wears Prada carbon copy lined up and ready for packaging. This is what The Chemist vs. The Computer and fans feel is just yet another passing trend. Listening closely, notice that The Chemist vs. The Computer effortlessly, and truthfully fuses several genres while maintaining a cohesive and independent sound. Bringing influences as broad as Cirva Survive, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Fear Before the March of Flames and Finch is not an easy feat to accomplish musically.
The band released their own EP, entitled “Loki†(June ’07) to immediate critical acclaim by Absolutepunk.Net (review by Scott Irvine attached). Locally the band is welcomed on nearly any type of show, proving once again that substance always wins over style. The remainder of 2007 includes plans for frequent tours, likely alongside regional friends and DIY machines Send The Dawn and a relentless and busy local show schedule in support of national acts.
Do not be mistaken by the band’s youth. A packed schedule, a slew of countless day jobs and sleeping on friend’s couches humbles this ever-growing band and they are ready to embrace a full-time career in music.
The band currently seeks a label that is willing to work as diligently as they are at their craft. Seeking a label will assist especially regarding touring as the band wishes to do so as often as possible. They’d be happy to work with someone with the same ideals and goals and for someone to finally “uninvent†the monotony of musical trends and to ascend the boundaries of their regional confines. Thanks for your time.

"If At The Drive-In and Glassjaw had a one night stand, their lovechild would be The Chemist Vs The Computer."
