CAFFEINE was found in 1996 by Marc Lauben (Guitar
+ Vocals), Andi Schwab (Guitar), Stephan "Magic" Müller (Bass) Moritz Trautner (Drums).
The band started making music with influences whatever they felt like. Either if
it was Jazz, Punk or Bach. In 1999 The Band got a new member as Stephan "Schlaubi"
Drouet joined the band for playing guitar and Marc decided to concentrate on
singing. Stephan brought some more influences to the band, mostly inspired by
Jimi Hendrix. In Summer 2000, bass player Stephan left the band and Andreas "Igorrr"
Dehn (as being a good friend and producer of the band) joined and as a
hello-gift, everyone got fake glasses with a stupid nose attached. That´s how it
works! But finally, 3 years later, Igorrr had to leave the band, too, for moving
to Brazil. Steffen Petry, himself beeing a Caffeine fan, joined the band
after that.
Caffeine has a huge repertoir of songs. Besides they´re own songs they cover
from bands like Bad Religion, The Doors, The Prodigy or Pearl Jam. Some songs
are left almost original and some song are presented in Caffeine-style. They are
known for they´re energetic live gigs and love to surprise the audience
with new songs, creative coverversions or funny themes.
