Leon Fields Jr.(ALvin Gray) is an average teenager growing up, except that he lives in a place where violence runs rampant and the people are afraid of the drug lords that keep them in check. Leon Fields Sr.(Ro Brooks), is old school, he remembers this neighborhood when it was peaceful and filled with hard working individuals trying to raise their children. He is a light in Leon's world, eventhough Leon, Jr. takes for granted that he has a strong male figure to guide him in life. Leon is just trying to live his life, with his friends Antwan and Jade (Matthew Talley and Tiffany Chambers), and a new girl, Carmen (Terilyn Fleming) that has captivated his interest and who has introduced him to a world of martial arts and sweet, innocent love. Little does he know that one sudden unexpected event, the brutal death of his father at the hands of a gang, will force him to respond. Will he do nothing, like mostly everyone, and go by the rule "stop snitching" or will he seek revenge and kill all of them, and risk the future his father and mother (Syretta Simmons) have secured for him, or is there another way to take these bastards off the street and prevent them from harming anymore innocent people. Leon, Jr. in his grief, and through his new association with Carmen, learns of an ancient fighting art, the master calls, "open hand", that could be used to bring justice to his father's killers, without becoming a killer himself. Leon through this art discovers how to empower himself, and to show the gangs that they will no longer rule the streets that he walks, or harm the people he loves.
