I'd love to meet people here that just want to be a friend for humor and fellowship -- or to be a friend to those that might need a listening heart or an honest opinion.
I am not impressed by people of fame and fortune like so many seem to be these days. In fact, I find Hollywood and the MTV crowd as a rule a turn off. I like to meet people that are genuine and down to earth. An artist who takes pride in his painting, a machinist who can craft a new part, or an electrician who will repair an old lady's light switch and leaves with a "we'll catch you next time" are the type of people I had rather rub shoulders with.
I would like to personally meet Billy Graham. A man of integrity and good intentions is rare to find these days. A man that can be that person for more than 80 years is like a fine diamond. I'd like to tell him "thank you" for helping me see years ago that there is a God who I will stand before some day, and that even though I am not good enough to call Him Father, He made a way to call me His Child. That means when I leave this old world I'll have a home in another place waiting on me. I know most people find that corny, but then they aren't responsible for my actions, I am.

Give me good country music like Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Trent Black, The Oakridge Boys, Allen Jackson, Dolly, George Jones, and that legend Marty Robbins used to sing. Anything from the 50's and early 60's I can usually appreciate and enjoy. If you play your rap junk around me I'll smash your music box. And today's rock-n-roll and a lot of the hip-hop isn't anything more than a bunch of noise all crammed into one track. My GRANDKIDS BEATING ON POTS AND PANS MAKE BETTER MUSIC THAN THAT!

Anything with Mel Gibson, Danzel Washington, Sean Connery, Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, or Robert Duvall will do. Two of my all-time favorites: 1)Robert Duvall and Tess Harper in "Tnder Mercies ------- 2)Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour in "Somewhere in Time". They don't make many like that any more.
I don't watch near as much TV as I once did. I enjoy NCIS, CSI, "24", Without a Trace, The Unit, and sometimes NUMBERS. I can't stand most of the new sitcoms. And Barf-Simpson you can keep at your place. Survivor was OK the first couple of seasons, but I don't spend my time on it anymore. None of the other reality shows excite me.

I am a good reader, but not a fast reader, so I don't enjoy reading as much as I once did. I enjoyed the "Left Behind" series. I read the Bible for knowlege and personal growth. And once in a while I'll pick up an old classic or Louis Lamour book and get lost in it for a day or so. But right now I have three or four books that I've started but haven't finished for about a year. I'm more likely to spend an hour or two reading news stories on the old 'puter.
Men that display character in spite of overwhelming odds or adversity. Roy Rogers, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Stewart, and John Wayne types. My dad and my wife's dad were both such men. Easy going and humble on the outside, but not willing to bend to peers or foes when it comes to principles.
