Band Members: Jesus from Ibiza are DJ Morano, Vincent Tini and Donna Olivia. Their three difference approaches to music are drawn together by their determination to create a new world of music that consists of electro, the warmth of the acoustic sounds that have emerged from the new Mediterranean style brought together with a modern and internationally orientated style. Taking the typical melodies of the Southern European countries and combining them with groove and the synthesized sounds produces a cutting edge musical project. Determined not to fall back of any kind of pre-defined musical genre, the Jesus From Ibiza sound freely expresses its own point of view accompanied by lyrics inspired by the quest to find a new Atlantis in the Mediterranean. The union of a DJ who felt stifled by the limits of House Music, an extraordinary guitarist with the will and talent to experiment, modifying, looping and filtering his performance until rather than performer, the term arranger springs to mind and a singer whose experience crosses the boundaries of Rock Pop and the confines of Musical Theatre to write and sing with her own voice leaving the more traditional vocal styles behind her.
Influences: The project takes sample grooves and weaves them together with a rhythm section recorded live; the synthesized sounds mixed with acoustic and electric guitars are processed using tube and digital technology; house rhythms meet triphop, typical rock and funk meld with sophisticated melodies and voice samples are used as part of the arrangement.
