Living life to its fullest potential, and having fun in the process!!

About Me

I am a young Afrikan woman born in America, and i have claimed my cultural origins and choose to express myself as such. I am completely in love with my soul mate and partner, Asukile ( my sweet husband) and my baby sweetheart, Soley. I strive to be a person of balance and integrity and have fun in the process. Lots of fun.Artistic expression and creativity offers such a profound connection to Onyame (the creator/God) that i feel blessed to have the inclination and the talent to express well through art and creation.I may sound very bohemian/ethnic, that is because i am, but i am also quite silly and enjoy life and all that it offers.PEEEEAAAAACE and Balance

My Interests

I am interested in all artistic expressions, thus i started, with my husband, a cultural arts organization. I really am very dedicated to the learning, teaching and preserving of the expressions of poeple of Afrikan descent, so that we our people will have a healthy appreciation for our own cultural expressions.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who are in the music and art business who are striving and intent on being people of integrity.

Music:

I LOVE music. All kinds. I'm big into Blues, Jazz, R&B, and Rock and Roll. But i really like a mix of all kinds. I think musical boundaries can be very restrictive. So i'd rather just enjoy and make music period.Favorite artists include: Nancy Wilson, Agyei Akoto, Anita Baker, Grady Tate, Valerie (Kehembe, Akua Agyeiman) Eichelberger, Iberia, Ellisha Mckinney, Egheosa Igbinoba, Cee lo, Quincy Phillips, Kris Funn, Janelle Gill, Mr. Covington, Osei Akoto, Akili "Ron" Anderson, Lee Morgan, Carmen Mcrae, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, etc. ..... i could go on and on and on and on... ...

Movies:

I love "Clue", "Harlem Nights", "Princess Bride", "When Harry met Sally", and most other comedies and romance flicks. I like a good drama and i love action, like "Alien vs. Predator". But i dont like sappy black love movies that try to immulate white love, cause that shit just aint the same. and i'm freaking sick of black street movies. I MEAN COME ON ALREADY! I think we get the point.

Television:

I love "Starting Over", all the "Law and Orders", "Medium" (my favorite), "The Backyardigans" and "Wonder Pets" for my baby girl.

Books:

Not a big reader, but i like Edwidge Danticat, valerie wilson wesley, zane (yes i love her trash books), Sankofa Movement (Akoto and Akoto), NationBuilding (K. Agyei Akoto), and any cultural anthropological books.

Heroes:

My Mom, Akua Nson Akoto (Josephine C. King), My dad, Kwame Agyei Akoto, My sister, Yaa Asantewa Akoto (Hargrove),
