About Me

Born December, 1983 in a small rainy fishing town in Northern BC, Dylan Thomas’ first homes were a boat and a hotel. His father a working musician and mother a writer, Dylan was destined for a life of expression. Dylan spent his early teen years playing punk rock in garages and by 17 he was playing in the Vancouver bar scene. While punk rock is still in his heart, Dylan has always had an ear for a good pop song and possesses a skill for songwriting that transcends genres and stereotypes.
Although he has always written on his acoustic guitar, he didn't start performing solo until 2005. That year he recorded an album of folk/country gems that has done well locally in sales and air play. After honing his skills in Vancouver, his next step was a Western Canada tour in the summer of 2007. An evening set in Brandon, Manitoba, at the Annual Folk Fest proved to be a highlight in his career.
2008 has Dylan Thomas working with The Vancouver Vipers - a local rhythm section of seasoned tour veterans whose sound blends effortlessly with Dylan's. He has spent the last two years since his debut and subsequent ep touring Canada and practicing the songwriting craft.
This spring will mark the release of Dylan Thomas' follow-up release as well as a Western Canadian tour with a few dates in the U.S.
"I suppose you could say there are a lot of similarities between the original Dylan Thomas, and this fine young musician. While only one of them was an influental 20th century writer, they seem to possess many of the same qualities which provide for an unforgettable existence. Poetic and talented, both Dylans are able to captivate you with their words, and seem to evoke a sense of naturalism and realism in their writing. Who is to say our bearded Vancouverite isn't as necessary as his predecessor? How could one argue that his guitar-driven melodies aren't as fine as the likes of "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night"? For those looking for a passionate, skillfull hero to sway the ladies off their feet, and to inspire the jaded masses of folk-rockers, look no further than Dylan Thomas. 10 out of 10!"

Paranoia Blues - A Review

Dylan Thomas: "Paranoia Blues" Bob Dylan named himself after the Welsh poet and well-known booze enthusiast Dylan Thomas. It is no coincidence, then, that this Dylan uses his middle name as his last ...

Every One of Them Words Rang True: Song Lyrics

I've been asked a few times why I didn't include a lyric sheet with the CD, so I figured I'd just post them on here for now. One of the most rewarding things about playing music is knowing that people...
