Pvt. Martin

A San Francisco Bay Area Native. Pvt Martin has been a true creative work in progress. He started his DJ career in 1998 when he spun for Cool Beats doing raves almost every weekend. After a couple years and being just generally burnt out of the Rave scene he took an interest in music with a bit more organic and less electronic feel. San Francisco House. The same time of this transformation in musical tastes, he was introduced to Paul Hemming who is the owner of Zen City Records and a record label by the same name. With this new relationship Pvt. Martin was able to talk to some of the right people within the San Francisco Club Scene. Playing at clubs like Cloud Nine and Glass Cat. Pvt. Martin also made an important friend, Femenio, who would end up becoming a partner in his production company Sophonic. With Sophonic, Femenio and Martin begin their start in East Oakland at a small and sometimes scary little club. During these sessions Pvt. Martin and Femenio learned how to play off each others musical tastes and styles. We moved on out of Oakland and started a residency at The Stud. Rounding out our experience we have thrown parties ranging from our upcoming 3rd Anniversary of our out door party “Lunar” (usually in Late May) Check out our upcoming shows!!DJ Pvt. Martin
