.. One of the Bay Area€™s best, DJ Femenio became addicted to house in 1993. After hearing house tapes from Germany, Femenio searched for that sound in San Francisco and found it in the gay club scene, where he would spend his time, even though he is heterosexual, because the music was fresh, powerful, and awakened his senses. Femenio is the founder of Flamingo production, a company that organized rave parties called €œMassives€? such as Curious George and Passage (in search of a land without barriers). After much success Femenio retired as a producer and began his infallible Disk jockey career. Femenio perfected his techniques of spinning at Oakland€™s Oasis and Zen City Records, and has carried on at venues in San Francisco such as The Stud, Mission Rock, Jellies, as well as appearances in New York City, Castro Street Fair, Burning Man, and Love Parade- San Francisco. Oakland has a special talent, DJ Femenio, and DJ Femenio has a special place for Oakland in his heart. Just as Oakland has seen hardship, change, and growth, so has Femenio. Femenio has experienced the loss of his mother, father, and brother yet remains strong because of music; as it inspires and heals him and touches those around him.
