BARSHEM "GHETTONOMETRY" IN STORES NOW

About Me

BIOGRAPHYBarshem is a true Bronx tale; still in the making. At the early age of nine; his main agenda was getting paid to help his family. Packing bags at grocery stores was the start of his entrepreneurial journey His neighborhood was a mixture of a lot of people with different nationalities, different backgrounds He watched all of that and learned how to adapt". He also learned different cultures and languages by dealing with all of my folks from the hood. Barshem speaks four different languages and enjoys his ability to communicate on many different levels. That love for communicating and watching led Barshem to poetry and rhyming,it wasnt until his cousin made his first rap record on an independent label, that Barshem saw a new career. Only 11 years old, Barshem decided to write original rhymes and started rapping with the group, Energy Posse. This posse eventually grew into the U Mob, He merged with the group called Omega, with two others members of U Mob. In the mid 90s things really started to jump off for Barshem as Alpha Omega. A two man group, they opened up for some of the industry's hottest groups; Jay Z, Lil Kim, Big Pun, Fat Joe, just to name a few. Now a solo artist, Barshem's first claim to fame came when he was at the right place at the right time, Barshem was uptown on 145th and 8th Avenue, waiting for a shorty, when a movie producer named Ya Ya stepped to me and told him that he could be Tupac's stand in. Not knowing anything about the movie business, Barshem gave Ya Ya his number and that was that. A week later Ya Ya called him to come to the set. Tupac saw Barshem and called him his brother. That day he went from taking the train to chill on the set of Above the Rim, to making money as Tupac's stand in and having his own trailer. Stardom was his destiny; but unknown to Barshem, this was only the beginning. Still pursuing the mic, Barshem would take meetings with record companies; but constantly faced rejection. It was then that Barshem decided to return to acting, On Wednesday he joined SAG and on Thursday he was working,Third Watch was his first SAG gig. Years later, in another role, his character blew up the police station in the episode, which made it his last booking for Third Watch. On Manchurian Candidate, Peter Cohen asked Barshem if he could do a line with Denzel, The director loved it and he got the part. Barshem used background work as a vehicle to meet some of the industry's top directors and producers, Meeting those directors had got him into the soundtrack business. Barshem has written title tracks for movies such as Rock the Paint, Marci X, Bulls Night Out and Full Clip.Barshem solicited tracks for the movie Rock the Paint that he met the executive producer Allen Boxer and started, the most serious move in his career. Over time, and many conversations later, Allen and Barshem not only became family, but also partners in their independent record label, B & B records, LLC One year after the first song recorded, Barshem and B & B Records, LLC are setting up Barshems debut album; Ghettonometry.---------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------Film's: Rock The Paint, Gee, Phil Bertelsen, Director * Manchurian Candidate, Skid Row Resident 2,Jonathan Demme,Director * Marci X,Audience Member 5,Richard Benjamin,Director * Bad Company,Card Player, Joel Schumacher, Director * Ali Harlem neighbor,Michael Mann,Director --- Down to Earth.Dreadlocks Buddy.Paul & Chris Weitz...Director ----------- Shaft.Prisoner,1.John Singleton,Director ------------------------------------ Above The Rim Tupacs photo double,Jeff Pollack -Director -------------------Television:------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- Law & Order ,Criminal Intent (Player 1)--------------------------------NBC Third WatchGang Lieutenant (BOMBMAN) ..w/WyclefJean.....................NBC Theater:---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------ Judgment Day ......
