Manning Road Productions

We make funny movies.

About Me

Manning Road Productions is an independent filmmaking company founded by Writer-Director Steve Wright. Our first project was "Boom Man," an award-winning short film about a struggling writer who suffers from a strange proclivity. The film was an official selection of The Sedona International Film Festival, LA Shorts Fest, Action On Film Festival (Winner, Best Director of a Short), and DC Shorts.
"Killing Time," the sophomore project from Manning Road premiered in December, 2007 at The Vine Theater in Hollywood, and will be screening at this year's upcoming Action On Film Festival held in Pasadena, CA.
You can see "Killing Time," "Boom Man," and other short films by Manning Road on this page and our website: www.shocktherapytv.com. Take special note of "Slow Times at Park," which marks the unofficial begining of Manning Road Productions. Produced in 1984, "Slow Times" is an elemntary school comedy with an alarming twist.
The stories of both "Killing Time" and "Boom Man" continue in our feature film Shock Therapy, currently being produced. With 75% of our footage in the can, Shock Therapy is due out in January, 2009. We're calling this movie "The Twilight Zone of Comedy," and we hope it will continue the tradition of films like Kentucky Fried Movie, Amazon Women On The Moon, and The Ten.
Manning Road has also produced "I Haven't Been," a music video also on this site, and a radio play called "Galaxy Trip," coming soon to www.shocktherapytv.com.
Consider Manning Road Productions as a cheap way to produce your own project from conception to finished product. We own a Panasonic DVX-100B camera, basic lighting equipment, and offer basic post-production editing and sound mixing services. And If you need help on the creative or screenplay side of the process, the founder of Manning Road has an M.F.A. in Screenwriting from The American Film Institute. If you want your short film, hosting reel, or music video to look like C.S.I. Miami; we're not for you. If you're doing a zombie movie or a big action piece; again, we're not for you. But if you've got a creative, reasonable project in mind, but not sure where to begin; we could be a big help.
